Long-Ball - Does it work? Who does it the most?
Fan The Flames replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I played against a team on Sunday and they bombarded our defence with long balls while we played it out from defence. Their couple of 22 year old did us groin blown oldies for speed and they won 7-4. Nuff said. -
Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"
Fan The Flames replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It is quiet rare that costruction work is suspended, other than for newts, artifacts, bombs or dead bodies. It will be interesting to know the reason. -

Nice bloke, RIP JB. What old Saint did he sign three times?

This thread needs the picture of the dad and son giving their ST's back. I would have thought that the fans of four of the five clubs with zero chartered points are happy with their clubs at the moment. I thought charters were a flash in the pan and equally as pointless as John Major, the man that championed them.

I just going to pick you up on the term journeyman, RL is better than that. Journeyman suggest and average player plying his trade at a number of clubs, RL is more of a late developer, it took him a while to get going for what ever reason. But since then he has had two clubs in six years and was prised away from Rovers for the tidy sum of a million. Its great that he is doing it in the Prem and lonf may it continue.

Again you are wrong, I like the discussions about attendance and the possible expansion, that's why I opened up the thread. But instead of a decent debate it's littered with you lot rubbing the noses of the other lot in it, references to oxfordshire roadworks and south wales catchment area etc were relevant, maybe even a bit funny months ago, but now are a bit ******ish. It's ironic that you think the Ground hog day picture is tedious. This is a forum we are all trying to affect opinion, but because I don't agree with you I'm a bedwetter. Im just looking forward to a good discussion on this without reference to a few daft things said over the summer.

Can someone please, please, please declare Turkish, CB Fry, The Kraken, This Charming Man* as (drum roll please and silence) the winners of the great stadium expansion debate 2012/13. Then maybe we can have a home game this season without having to put up with threads like this, dripping with smug glee because we haven't had a sell out. This board has been ruined over the last few months by vitriolic and condesending postings and the constant references to a few outlandish statements; all because a couple of dreamers on here thought we needed to expand the stadium. Declare them winners, the other side can stomp of home with the ball and the winners can have a celebratory fag on the swings and we can all move on. *and any else who I have missed whose life would be enhanced by being the winner of this prestigious award.

Its not a gene you are missing, you just don't have to compulsion to say 'I told you so' every week.

Isn't that the footballing equivalant of 'heres a picture of me and Brad Pitt', when its actually a picture of Brad Pitt and you are in the back ground somewhere. -
Saints and Brighton just the same......
Fan The Flames replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Very good. -
Thats right but you don't need to have seen some band back in the day to be allowed an opinion. Whilst its no classic, its about the club I love therefore is great in my book.

I can't see anything other than a comprehensive win for us.

We had real trouble moving the ball forward from midfield, but thats what Arsenal. To keep the ball we had to pass it square with the Arsenal midfield pressing constantly trying to force the mistake. Fox came up to assist the mf with another route and was left looking as though he was not doing his job. We just found it difficult to move it forward, I can't remember a WP forward pass; Arsenal then break quickly in numbers and were too good for us (as they should be). We defended in a compact way, so they pushed a reverse ball out wide. If we open the defence up to counter that they would have been through the middle. NA and the team tried to counter them but they were just too good.

What did Norwich and Swansea do that we aren't?
Fan The Flames replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Saints
Swansea were better with 6 points and only 1 four nil thumping. -

Norwich got 1 point of Arsenal and the Mans. They ship 11 goals in against city. It's not panic stations yet. -
The England circus rolls into town again.
Fan The Flames replied to alpine_saint's topic in General Sports
Regards the official ceremonies, how many of them have been in an English capacity (probably none) and how many in a UK/British capacity. GSTQ appeared 50 years after the act or union, so you are wrong, again. -

Fan The Flames replied to alpine_saint's topic in General Sports
Its not the English NA, we don't have a NA. At sporting occasions the FA have chosen to sing the UK na instead. Have you looked at the words, what do they say about england and its people, nothing. Its all about protecting the reign of the Queen, that might mean a lot to you but it means nothing to a lot of people and it certainly means nothing during a football match. -

Who said it was ridiculous to follow your country abroad and signing. It is my opinion, and being allowed opinions in this country is something to be proud about, that the National Anthem is the ****tist NA in the world and not only do England supporters sing it like a football song they sing it through out the match. It's has nothing to do with England its a monarchists song, the song of a family that doesn't give a **** about football or you. All other countries sing about their country not their leaders, maybe South Korea or other fundamentalist countries do. It looks and sounds ridiculous, all in my opinion of course.
