You are getting very boring now, you are entitled to your opinion just like others are entitled to slag pompey off, even get obsessed about it if they want.

I remember going in the hut at the Dell to choose my season ticket and this is exactly what the salesman told me.

Living 10 miles from Gillingham means I will miss an easy trip. Much rather had seen Tranmere drop. Gills last week was like we were after the famous Norwich game.
-
Maybe it was announcing our merger with Portsmouth.
-
Hope Leeds stay down, would find it very amusing as they have sung 'champions and going up' all season.
-
I do hate it when commentators go on about the best fans bo***cks, look at their attendances commentators, research is what you get paid a lot to do you lazy bunch of fu**s.

I was at Gillingham and was happy with the days proceedings, I went to see some friends and have an afternoon out watching some football, consolidating 7th place doesn't seem that important to me. Giving a run out to some second string players is more important and it good to see some of them play, I was interested in seeing Martin. But then I only live about 10 miles from Gillingham so maybe its not such a big deal for me, still I find it difficult to understand that after a great season people would let this dead rubber game upset them so much.

The league no longer important in the last two games with nothing to play for. This season is the better for the JPT win.
-
GS did the same with the kids to prove to lowelife that they were not good enough. The conspiratists among my group wondered whether AP and Paul Scally may be friends and whether and weaken side might give us first refusal on Simeon Jackson. Basically there was a reason for playing the side today and that will be for the betterment of the team, so people should stop moaning.

Dead rubber poor performance shocker
-
We were **** today, weak side against a team really up for it; passing, communication, skill level and awareness all very poor although commitment not bad. ****ing down in a roofless stand, spirit of the fans quite good, despite some muppet behaviour. All in all a wet limp end to a great season.

Southampton and Plymouth have spent a lot of seasons in the same divisions over the years and there was definitely a south coast rivalry according to my old man, a Plymouth fan. It might have died with the years apart when we were top flight. I remember watching Plymouth v Portsmouth in the late seventies, it was a real big deal and I've never seen worse fighting since, all round town before the game and the game had to be stopped to quell the voilence.

So this what we can expect from Alpenis until the new season 'AP/fans getting excuses in early', it's about the third thread he has used the line.
-
We should always play a red and white striped team with the loser agreeing to never wear the stripes again. Start with Exeter and work up over the years to Atletico Madrid.

I agree. He was excellent against Leeds although I thought that he has to develop and understanding with Lallana, when they click watch out Div1/championship.

2003 was great the Cup Final and the run was fantastic, the league finish was good and if you had to ranked them by achievement it would go above this season. But if you go on enjoyment this season is far better imho.

Can you make a judgement next Christmas?
Fan The Flames replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
I wasn't commenting on his stance on SFC as frankly I've got more going on in my life to remember where people are in the debates on here. I was commenting on his and yours attitude and I stand by what I said, you and him are more interested in your own opinions and have a desperate quest to be constantly proved right. Surely the value for money part is use in your judgement of whether the season has been a success or not, you don't think the season has been successful and then test it for vfm; its all in the round, at least it is if you can handle judging more that one criteria at a time. There are games where we should have won, but we won games I thought we would lose. You can't deny that win our game in hand +10 we would be right in the mix at a time we are really coming into form. As for your last bit I'm lost, what have I got to grow up over. As this last time I looked the one who has to step over the line and get personal, sulk, feel picked on, hehehe at other personal digs, constantly moan about the Saints is you, Alpenis Saint. -
It has been a great season in The Third Division South, two games a week to get excited about, £20 or so for a ticket, big away crowds, pay on the gate, better media coverage for this level than before, some big clubs fighting it out. Saints top scorer, AP building a good side, excellent home attendances (we had the third highest attendance in the country a few Saturdays back), cup run and game against the blue few, JPT win, great win ratio home and away, coming back for being behind and of course our glorious new owner. I was playing five aside the other night and amongst the fans of the usual clubs, there was a Leeds and Charlton fan, and the talk after the match with everyone joining was who was going up from Div 1. Its a great contest this year and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks. So if a successful season is measured by the enjoyment it brings this one is definitely successful in my book.

But unlike you most on here are happy to be proved wrong if it benefits the Saints, all you and Alpine care about is the argument. Looking at him quoting you and heheing what a f#cking big girl. Release yourself from all this loathing and step back from the blame culture. No matter how much you and Alpine and the other very few on here bang on, the majority will put this season down as a success, what ever happens next season this season will be regarded as such. If we don't go up this year it will be down to a couple of bad results, that's not really any ones fault, in hindsight AP would have played the same team and probably the same tactics. The margin between success and failure and all that. It's difficult to blame anyone for beating Norwich away and then drawing at Wycombe, thrashing Huddersfield and then losing at Tranmere. We will go up this season, next season or even one of two seasons after that and I'm sure that there will be good times and bad times between now and then. But judging by our current standards it will be more good than bad. -
They normally want a 'Celtic' man, not that it always works. Lets remind Celtic how we conned their national side into taking one of our managers before.
-
I like their bald captain, Barrett I think.
-
Only club to still be playing at their first ground, I think. I enjoyed the love in as well.
-
Over the season we are the second highest scorers, second best defence, second best goal difference and lost the second least amount. But too many ****in draws.
-
Play-offs ahoy - **** Colchester & Huddersfield they can't hold us.
