Maybe it was a game behind closed doors he's talking about, apparently we are top of that league.

Have we hit rock bottom yet
-
everyone has accepted we are in league one next season

I assume you will be accepting your share of the blame then. -
I'm sorry I can’t stand this working class northerner/rich southerner myth, this north football good/south football bad nonsense. The football league power base was always in the north west and the set up (one up one down, two up two down, refusing to recognise the strength of the teams in the Southern League) maintained the NW teams success which kept the crowds up. First the provincial NW clubs then the city NW clubs. The other clubs have had to fight their way to the top and it took a club with our early promise too long to get there, due to the restrictive promotions, but Southampton and Portsmouth has supported top flight football for a long enough. The size of a club is less to do with having a large pool of working class customers and more to do with success. Compare Arsenal and QPR, same distance from central London, similar demographics, different levels of success and different size's now. To debate your points, Bristol Rovers were formed around the same time as us and City a bit later, they were the first southern non-London team in the football league. So there is plenty of history there, not top flight history but that’s not the fault of the fans. Of course the city fans would love to push the club to the top flight (again) but there is only so much they can do. Hull was, I believe I read somewhere, the biggest urban area in Europe not to ever have a top flight team. The potential was there for years, although it had to fight for attention with two RL teams. So the working classes of Hull (which is probably as working class as Bristol) didn’t help as you suggested. Hull’s rise is due to the Kingston Telecom legacy and the will of the new board, this could have happened in any town, North or South. Oh and finally its not a certainty that Pompey will go down, the effect on player morale may be good if they thought Adams was a *****. They are still above the relegation zone so have time to recover from their free fall.

What UB40? I thought they had split up. We can all join in to Red Red Whine.

The plot thickens. Will Lowe be kept on in any capacity, as DoF for instance. I would like to see as part of the deal, up the sale fee top £11 and Lowe has to be a car park attendant for a season.
-
Maxwell bought two clubs and just put one in his sons name, so its not beyond the will of man. There are a few coincidences that make it interesting. What happens to Lowe when spicy morgan takes over.

He's really going overtime to win over the fans.

Was it on the cheap, I have the feeling they were trying replicate Lawries appointment. An manager who had relative success in the lower league and who could step up to a higher level. This was instead of hiring the lastest guy sacked from another top flight club. the only problem here was Branfoot wasn't that successful apart from a ZDS cup run (I think), should have gone for Lennie Lawrence.

Was there ever any update from Crouch re investment

and I bet you were checking every three minutes since the thread started -
Its has been down hill ever since, apart from a mini hillock in 2003.

Who will you support if Saints go really under ?

My great grandad was a Freemantle fan and always said nothing would come of St Marys. Are Freemantle still going. -
Driving away from Cardiff felt like the beginning of the end, little did we know it actually was.
-
And he was right to think outside the usual suspects, just didn't execute it very well.
-
Only when we are playing against him, fair enough really.
-
Because he's a football fan that can empathise with a struggling team getting a last minute equaliser only to let another one in seconds later.
-
But you are either in the inner circle of managers or you are out, thats why the same failed managers go round and round clubs and others are always left knocking on the door. You need a break to get into football management and Pearson is making the most of his, doing quite well last time I looked.
-
I thought the popular thought on here was to give Wotte the F#ck time. I don't know what you got against Pearson he kept us up something I hope Wotte TF does as well. Forest found it hard to come back up from league 1 and Leeds are still down there, so I wouldn't dismiss what Pearson is doing lightly.

Congratulations Dell Days you have reached 100 consecutive threads on trying to expose what you perceive as the hypocrisy of Saints fans.

I don't buy this anyone but Ponty call, I say no to change until its proved the new man can do better. Better the devil you know, out of the frying pan and into fire and all that. Just because I am questioning change doesn't make me a Ponty Luvvie.

Rather see the word luvvie than spastic. tw#t.

I'm sorry but you are wrong, people may have said stuff along the lines of I expect Surman, Davis, Lallana will be sold come January especially when we were moving the high earners out on loan. We were told by sources that the club finances were very bad and it seemed reasonable that come January any sensible bid would be considered. No one stated it as fact and shouted down people who disagreed with it, you are the one being hysterical now. I still believe that the club would have considered any sensible bid for any player and personally believe that no one made such a bid. I havn’t seen our players being linked with anyone for ages, its been very light on the rumour front all window so I conclude, impo, that the club hasn't had to resist one decent offer for any of our players. Also if you paid closer attention to what people have said you would have realised that it wasn't a conspiracy theory but the guy was simply claiming that not selling players was as likely to mean we are going into administration as it was to mean we were not. Not an anti-Lowe theory at all. Also we were definitely told that the finances were bad at the beginning of the season, a legacy of the former board etc etc, therefore players and managers had to be moved on. Things have either improved or they were not as bad as first made out. Not a conspiracy theory, more of a simple question which one is it.

Lets hope he is the real deal, we need a lucky break.
-
Yeah, Wotte the F#ck is the man. I might change my opinion of him if he could get Rudi playing well. Give him a cuddle and tell him we need him.
-
So for instance if we had signed the Hungarian Marian Parhars, a player that was top goal scorer in a clubs successful promotion from the second tier of Hungarian football but no one had seen him play would you be saying to the happy posters "clam down happy clappers we haven't seen him play for us yet". No you would be joining in the excitment having made an assesment based on the information at hand. It works both ways.
