  1. Oh ok, thanks.
  2. Its someone called Glenn F u ckerill, T wa terill, C unterill or Sh iterill?
  3. Why don't they rent the space out; covering the corners with tarpaulin and grow mushrooms, storage space for ex players furniture whilst the find a new gaff (might have to close a few more areas for that one), rent each corner to different evangelical churches and they could have a worship off, lap dancing club, cinema, loads of opportunities they just aren't thinking outside the box, a bit like the team then.
  4. Was he not the catalyst the team needed, only scored four goals in 83/84 but played almost every game and contributed to the best season ever.
  5. I would have thought Coventry would have been very similar to us debt wise. But if you think we were worse off then them its bad news for us, so they must have managed the drop out of the top flight better than we did.
  6. The story could have come from our end trying to generate some interst. A bit of viral marketing.
  7. At a price that he wants maybe, a price which is not realistic.
  8. Thanks for the speeling lesson, I forgot this board was full of sad tw*ts. So you think it would have been different yesterday if the lads came out after half an hour of listening to heavy metal and slamming their chests into each other and then ignoring the opposition. These are professional players paid to be able to turn it on, its how they got to be professional in the first place.
  9. I am talking about players being abused in the street, what evidence is there that this has happened. I am sure that the pressure is getting to the lads, they want to perform in front of their home fans and they are not at the moment. The team is underperforming for a number of reasons and the pressure is on them for all these reasons not just down to the crowd alone. They are the professionals and have to work through this period. Is the crowd at St Marys that bad.
  10. What evidence have we got that this has happened. None.
  11. They are professional that can turn on the agression when required and don't need to be in some pyscho trance to perform.
  12. I don't believe that is the case at all. I'm disappointed to hear Jan stay stuff like that. So its changed on this board from the fans being heroic and hard core to being toxic. I cant believe we have be reduce to this.
  13. If only we had 30,000 Andy Porter's we would walk the league.
  14. I really don't understand what you mean about opting for administration a while ago. Are you saying that the level of ability of our kids so much better than other teams that it lead to RL to think that this was a doable option and without this superior pool of young talent he would have taken the club into administration with out first trying to cobble together a side of cheap players and freebees or carrying on with the team we had. I don’t get any comfort from the fact that just because we are playing the reserve team means they were ready to be used. But I appreciate they are working hard and we had limited choices but this would have been the RL's plan no matter how good they were.
  15. The staff at St Marys is reduced/changed so maybe they didn't have the time/awareness of the event, maybe a fan who really wanted the club to be involved could have offered assistance prior to the event or maybe someone from the BL could have helped, but there's nothing on their website about it, it doesn't seem to be an event supported by them. There are very few clubs involved in it so its not as though SFC were the only to not get invloved. About three english clubs doing it, all the SPL clubs are doing it as was an SPL decision not individual clubs. So maybe you are being a bit hard on the club.
  16. The stats don't look good, to be expected though.
  17. But the intelligence is not very good if they are stopping everyone. If they have intelligence of a fight occurring its just a question of driving around the riot squad to the known areas, this is enough to disperse people and nipping any disorder in the bud. The intelligence for Swansea Southampton, would have been something along the lines of 'big club, big following (both relative to swansea), ex prem, bit of a scalp to the local hoolies', that is and because of that people are harrassed and not allow to go where they want it the country wher they pay their taxes. Its a disgrace. Seriously when was there a domestic football related fight where women and children got hurt. Never has been one.
  18. It doesn't have to be that way, high visable deterant with rapid reaction sqauds. Simple, no one gets harrassed and those causing trouble are quickly dealt with. How does searching some one reveal they are going to commit a football hooligan crime.
  19. The police are there to protect everyone, not the majority. What threat was there at Swansea, none, its a hysterical over reaction feed by people who know f##k all.
  20. I completly disagree this is far from acceptable. Football fans have been treated like scum for years. Some kid who beats to death a family man, is in court where they take their wigs off and give him 'comfort breaks' every half an hour and have a social worker in the dock holding his f##kin hand. Yet people who want to go to another town in their own country, have a drink and watch a game of football are considered so worthless that their basic human right not be harrassed by the police is suspended. All for what, beacuse there were a few punchs up between fans back in the 70's and 80's. Why aren't lads on there way out into town on a saturday night corralled into a holding pen and frog marched home after closing time, it wouldn't be allowed yet there is more trouble in town at a weekend then there is in any football match. The police wait around and deal with the trouble when its happening and the same should apply to the football. We shouldn't accept it and if you think its alright you need you head examined, imho.
  21. Its on the news here in Kent that Charlton we be unvailing a new player this weekend, they will all be disappointed.
  22. So thats how much he will be sold for in jan then.
  23. The chairman of my company doesn't come to our department meetings, should I be worried about this lack of governance.
  24. People don't mind being searched going in to a ground it’s been part of football for years, its the random stopping in the street for no apparent reason that is not liked, and quite rightly too. No body on here would like it if they were out shopping with their wives or friends and were pulled to one side and searched. So why is it ok to do this to football fans? Football policing should be visible and reactive, only proactive when the intelligence is sound. Often the police do this kind of search pattern with very little intelligence and given the go ahead to act in this way the police on the street will be doing it for fun and getting great pleasure out of the power they have. I bet you will find the officer in charge at Swansea was inexperienced and erred on the side of caution on the basis of a bit of very weak information. What was the arrest rate from the stop and searches, probably very low if indeed they arrested anyone (other than those getting stroppy for being searched). It’s a waste of time. It might make the odd person feel safer seeing lads being stopped but people shouldn't be used it that way. How many of the 'well if you've got nothing to hide brigade' hate speed cameras, because only in England would we condemn speed cameras and condone stop and searching.
