I wouldn't, couldn't afford to, but it's happening up and down the country at the moment. Don't blame him though when he can get the cash elsewhere.

Very close

At least we were not thrashed again

I thought the £2.2m a year covered the whole debt, which was the shortfall of the sale of the Dell and naming rights. I agree that the designers missed a trick and I too was stunned with the outside and disappointed that the closeness had not been replicated. One of the first design meetings should have been to distill the essence of the Dell and try and capture that in the new ground. Closeness to the pitch and steeper stands would have done it for me, but we got an off the peg jobby, still that kept the costs down. In hindsight the move is a millstone around our necks, but it was one that had to be made. You have to develop your ground at some stage and historically this has always caused clubs problems. Maybe there needs to be FA grants available or tax breaks to help clubs through these periods.

We had to move, The Dell was just too small to compete. The loan is only £2.2m a year not much to service really.

Lowe running Saints like a business- a misconception

No as bad as all this is its not the doomsday scenario. Which is we go bust and ta ta only to be seen again in the Hampshire league when a few people can be bother to form another club that takes on the name only. And thats never goingn to happen. -

I wish we wern't in this mess, but Im prepared to believe that all options are still open until they are proven otherwise and I need a little bit more proof than speculation from an internet forum user. -

Thanks, so in all probability if it does hit the fan we will end up playing back at St Marys. So whilst admin is the last thing we should wish for its not the doomsday scenario its made out to be. -

So you are just speculating. So are you saying you reckon Aviva would rather repossess then sell on at a loss. -

So it does happen then. So St Marys could be bought by someone at the right price. -

If it is so worthless then why secure the loan to it then, why are football clubs lent the money in the first place. How does it work then if we go bust and the mortgage company realises what ever worth out of the ground do we still owe the shortfall, and if we do how is that paid. Why didn't Leicester, Bradford, Luton, Cardiff, Ipswich etc loose their grounds when they went into admin. -

Palace, Brentford, Watford have bought theirs back twice off the top of me head. Leeds its belongs/belonged to the council. There are probably more. -

Because other grounds have been bought before and leased back. Whats so staggering about a long term loan to build a ground, millions have twenty five year mortgages buying homes whats the difference. £2.2 million isn't much if we were getting better crowds, I wish my mortgage was only 25% on my income. But we are not getting better crowds because of the present mismanagement. -
Exactly this is how we have survived for years. The problem is the longer we stay in disarray the harder it will be to attract the good youngsters, the less big players we can produce so the less money we have feeding in.

Please, Oxford a team in the southern league until the 60's whose highest league finish is 18th in division 1 and Luton who had one good spell in the top flight are no where near us in stature. Oxford are in the conference because they were relegated not because they went bust and started again. Luton went into admin and their position is connected to that, but they are still in existance. People are talking about us ceasing to exist, it won't happen we are too big for that. The only clubs to cease to exist (for a period) have been small clubs and all of them are up and running again, Maidstone, Aldershot, Newport, Accrington.

Thats a different spin from your original post. Lowe probably doesn't want to play all the high earners, and the one that left first was probably the one that was bought first, ie they are all up for sale and no one has come in for Rudi, yet. Not because the fans were calling for him alone to be played.
-
I thought so.
-
Would GS have left if he was allowed to buy the three players he wanted.
-
Agreed. Do people really think we would cease to exist if admin happens. We are easily in the top third of clubs, whenever has a club this size ceased to exist. I don't want admin but people should stop this fear mongering.
-
Yes but did it have to be John.

Totally agree, this corner is as important to those who sit there as the northam. The team’s decimated little chance of anything other than a relegation battle and the ***** Lowe back in charge. People may have been able to put up with all that but the club decides to smash up the last reason to come, i.e. sitting with your mates and having a laugh. Clever businessman.

Calm down, its a message board, people vent their anger and theres a lot of anger to vent. Its because there are so many people still perpetrating half truths and myths on this board that people feel obliged to point out the real facts. Like it or not Lowe doesn't come out of it very well. Now if we could all accept that mistakes have be made by Lowe then maybe the constant finger pointing would stop. Just look around the message board there are loads of intelligent conversations going on. "I'm fully entitled to post what I like where I like thanks - and I'm pretty sure I don't need to ask you for your permission" Maybe you should print out the above and stick on your monitor before you go of on one about people posting things you don't like.

Call Norris, this threads also broken the "how many post before some one says they are playing the how many posts before its all Lowe's fault game" game record.
