  1. Is he the Dutch Simon Clifford.
  2. We are not content now because yes we had that and want it again. Rightly so, its all most of us have known and I want us to play in the top flight again. Do you think if Pompey go into meltdown their fans will be content going back to how it was, no they will be desire to get back up there again. I can’t believe you are asking the second question, we love the Saints and for most people that means they want to see them competing at the highest level. For all the faults of the premiership and English football in general I want Southampton, our city to be represented at the highest level possible. There’s a few on here that would prefer to see the Saints out of the nonsense that is the premier league and acting like a small club, playing local lads, developing talent being a decent sincere side. That’s fine if that what you want, others want something else. The financial framework of English football is crap and I would prefer it if you could spend a few years building something and slowly climb up the league. But it isn’t like that, so we can sit around hoping football changes or hope we can change. It’s up to the individual what camp they sit in. I know we have little chance of big investment but I am willing to clutch at any straw if it means moving away from dicing with death in the third division. Do you really not think Southampton is better than this? Also investment doesn’t mean selling your soul to the corporate devil, it can mean anything from a few quid from a local business man.
  3. If Skacel doesn't get used all sorts of conspiracy theories will be cooked up. He just need to be loved again, go on Jan give him a cuddle.
  4. Exactly, if it did all finish I doubt any of the blue few would regret it ever happening in the first place. A final, some great players, some good football, a few years in the top flight and beating their bigger and classier neighbours. As opposed to fiddling around trying to find a formula that might get them to compete in the second division.
  5. Gliders. Flybe are doing alright.
  6. No it doesn't, yes it does. It means its information from the inner circle, as it might have escaped you but Mr Ed was fictional, horses can not talk, well not humanish anyway. The information is so good it may well have come from the horses mouth. In this context you can take it to mean the Shearer has actually said to Le Tiss he would consider the job if offered. I find that interesting information, but what I don't find so interesting is the takeover part because its more of an if than a when. So I would like to add that if my dad buys Southampton I would consider the job if offered and that is straight from this horses mouth, naaaaaaigh
  7. Spot on again. I also wonder about cutting the wages when we first came down, it may have been prudent but did it have a demoralising effect, especially if some didn't have it in their contracts. You have to try and get back up straight away and the best way to do that is as you say act like a quasi top flight club. We had a two year window and wasted the first year adjusting to the Championship, compounded by the wage cut, where as we should have carried on as we were minus the few players who would not play in a non-premiership side and maybe we would have been more competitive in our first season down. Then adjusted the wages when the parachute cash finished. Southampton’s history is about missed opportunities.

  9. Well if we cant beat Pompey under GH then you can leave the flux capacitor where it is
  10. We are of no use to Glenn Hoddle so don't expect him anytime soon.
  11. You seriously can not expect people with real dissatisfaction with Lowe not to mention his smug face when we lose 4-1.
  12. It fits their version of events and keeps their image of Lowe intact, because that seems to be important to them.
  13. They don’t need QPR to access the Beeb site, they could buy the site if that is what is really going on behind the scene and develop it without a football stadium and make more money, 99% of developments don’t include a football stadium. I can understand them being interested in the Beeb site because they own QPR, because there isn’t much chance of developing Loftus Road. But you portray it as though they bought QPR because it gives them an advantage in getting the Beeb site, but I cant see how it does. London is the only answer, in my opinion as to why they bought QPR. Southampton has much more development opportunity than Loftus Road, the ground is a decent size and could be expanded there is plenty of land around the ground just ripe for development.
  14. Based on what, Lowe's track record or just a gut feeling.
  15. I would agree with you if our team was littered with loanees but its not, andthe best way for our kids to develop is to come in to a balance successful team so that means playing the strongest 11, weve brought these loanees not as back stops but as a full memebrs of the squad and the competition is good for all. Lancashire will get his chance, its all very ernest only wanting to select only our own players but it might not win us games and it might not be the best way to develop them.
  16. Its not about instant success its about having the tools to move forward and that is investment. We are in survival mode at the moment it would be good to move to thrive-al mode.
  17. Thats just playing them for exposure sake, it makes no sense not to pick your strongest 11, especially when were are in the bottom 3.
  18. I seem to find myself defending Shepherd and I don't really know much about him. But what he said about the slappers wasn't publically, he was caught by an undercover journalist. I'm sure you give Lowe a few drinks whilst relaxing away from home with a few friends and asked him what he thought of the of the Southampton fans, you might get a few strong words. Shepards conduct towards Bobby R and Lowes towards Dave Jones.
  19. I wouldn’t mind if our chairman were to go on holiday and lounge around a swimming pool. Slags or lunatic fringe, neither of them covered themselves in glory. I didn’t like the slags or shirt comment but that’s just one story and he did have a point about the shirts, I can’t comment on the girls as I have never been to Newcastle. But the inference is that because Lowe is posh (apparently) he has class and is decent and because Shepherd is common (apparently) he is crass and not decent, its an inference I don’t buy into. At the moment we need a cash injection and I would welcome most people on board who could do that. I have standards and wouldn’t want the likes of Thaksin Shinawatra to take control but Freddy Shepherd is hardly in the same league, financially or as a scoundrel. I think what’s happen to football is wrong, but what’s happening at Man City isn’t representative of the majority of the countries football teams.
  20. I can’t believe this continuing Lowe adulation by the muppets on here. People have bought into the myth that he is a pair of safe hands financially, but the easiest thing to do to an ailing company is to come in a slash costs, the hard bit is to get people buying again. The laugh of the situation is that he is coming into a ‘save’ a failing business that he caused to fail in the first place. Every so often football steps up a gear and those clubs he don’t respond get left behind, Lowe biggest gaff and it can’t be denied was that he didn’t push the team onwards when required. He is meant to be such a good business man but he didn’t see the increase in football revenue that was just around the corner and he didn’t set Southampton up to ensure we were a part of that. He is an average chancer having another go at our club. But the muppets on here just lap up everything he does, I thought we were supporters of a football team but it seems more are concern with their support of the chairman. What is he doing that’s so ‘revolutionary’, Lowe isn’t the first bloke to play with kids, Crystal Palarse did it last year to name one example.
  21. A man with no class (apparently) and money against a man with class (apparently) and no money. As we are a football club not an etiquette school so I know who I would choose. However the Mirror reckons he is after a spanish club.
  22. We arrived the night before couldn’t stand the stress of travelling there on the day. We went into a bar before the game with a gallery overlooking a basement bar and we draped our flag over the balcony to huge applause and when we went down to join everyone Coldplay came on, I remember walking through the bar pint in hand towards my mates with every singing “it was all yellow”. Happy days, Big Kev RIP. My over riding feeling afterwards was that the season long journey was over, all the laughs and enjoyment we had had finished, all the planning, telephone conversations, road trips, listening to the draws, the anticipation, the winning party plans, the open top parade was all over. I think I would have felt like that if we had won, but the elation of winning the cup would have delayed it for a long time though. I went back to my mums and stayed in bed for a couple of days.
  23. says the c*nt who wanted WBA to beat us

  25. Both were diiferent, one said he was a w*nker the other said he was a c*nt. Both different but correct.
