Glen Hoddle can really play god. On paper it seems a good idea, they pick up unwanted talent, develop them further and hope they blossom late. The bit I don't fully understand is how they make their money, it can only be through becoming their agents and getting a cut that way. However if they could get them into a club that was willing to showcase them they could get a more profitable sell on fee. The hosting club would have to hold their registration, because of the third party ownership thingy. We fit the bill, Hoddle and Lowe are old flames and we have a docile first team coach who will do as he is told. Hoddle would benefit by Southampton adding value to his players, the clubs coffers would benefit by having their cut. The only thing that will suffer would be the football team, but the PLC would be OK so Lowe would be happy. The only thing standing in his way is the other owners, but if we went into administration he could wipe them out quickly and cheaply. It’s all just a wild theory about a likely to happen as America nationalising their banks.

Nicholl finished 14 12 13 7 14, during his spell Villa, Man City, Newcastle, West Ham, Sheff Wed, Sunderland amoungst others went down. He kept us in a comfortable position and it seemed exciting. The year we came 7th we were the second highest scorers.

Totally disagree when England played in club grounds it was more partizan with Newcastle players being booed at Sunderland all game just one example. Also Wembley is full of supporters from all over the country and I'm sure those that booed were not just from the south. Cole is a **** and he wont give a **** if he is booed.

I would go for Chris Nichol, good tenure, nice football, flirted with relegation but whats new there, continuation of stability and represented what Southampton was about. I thought we found a replacement for Lawie and Chris, in both Jones and Strachan but of course both left because of Lowe and Sturrock could have been a contender if given a bit more time.

It doesn't have to be an arab plaything it could be a modest english based investor.

He can’t its all rhetoric, along the lines of say something enough times and people might start believing it. Don’t hold your breath waiting for facts.

Didn't you not listen to him this week, he will not manage another club, he may consider offering his shoddy services on the international merry-go-round in a few years time but only if he can do it part time along side his new venture. Maybe Andorra, close to his Spanish base and the language barrier will mask his inept man management skills, or Eastern Europe where his look is still very fashionable. He has effectively retired from club football, not that any club wants’ him. That’s good news in my opinion, it means we won’t have to fight that little battle again.

Yes interesting stats, they show that JP is doing OK with what he has got. But it doesn't mean he should be immune from any critical appraisal of his performance or from fans asking the big question ‘is this the best squad we could have assembled with our resources’.

What would you do if Mike Ashley bought Saints next?
Fan The Flames replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
He is a faker, in my opinion it was all about making a quick sell and a few million. -
I may not have a clue how these things work, but do takeoverers get a medical team lined up before hand.

More prejudice rhetoric from the scoobylites.

Not trying to answer your question, but an interesting point I remember reading somewhere that as a club we had one of the highest percentage of regular attendees outside of the city, why is that.

A response equal in brilliance as your opening post.

21 shots on goal....more than the whole of last season?

11 on target, 10 off; according to sky score centre. -
I went and watched the Arsenal kids last week, they are excellent and along with our youngsters you can see the level of skill being brought through is very good. I would have wished for a better blend, but I agree there is something exciting about seeing the kids come through. I don't really get this mercenary notion, football has always used transient labour, it’s down to the management team to buy the right ones and keep them motivated.

Because they are stupid.

Spent a bit of time visiting my mother in law on the heart ward at Kings, she couldn't walk up stairs this time last year and the other week we walked for hours around a NT garden. Everyone on the ward was walking around with rolled up towels, couldn't work it out until I saw the MiL holding it close to her chest as she coughed. Next doors dad had a triple last year and was knocking a wall down in next doors garage a few months later. Best wishes mate.

No I don’t get wound up by Scooby, he is a caricature and quite funny. Everyone knows what he’s about it’s the less extreme pro-Lowes that get slightly energised by his posts and a bit less receptive to the debate that annoy me. This whole debate about Lowe is about policy not personalities. The debate in the anti-Lowe camp has moved on from hockey and first names a long time ago and is purely about a dislike of his management of this club. Yet for those in the pro-camp this debate is closed you are convinced that there is only one way forward for the club and because you are the only ones to understand this you think it’s a sign that you must be more intelligent than everybody else. You can’t allow the notion that some else’s opinion may be based on how they read the situation with the facts laid out in front of them, it has to be because they are less intelligent or have some petty class inferiority complex. I hear a lot of people on here with intelligent cogent arguments, that do not get personal with Lowe or pro-Lowe supporters but to you they are nothing more than people with chips on their shoulders, that’s why I got angry, it is pure contempt of fellow fans. Anyway I take back the s**t, we all want a bright future for the Saints, its just we all have our own valid views on how that will come about. My name comes from a text conversation with my mates when we were on a bit of a run, signing of with the Saints are on fire, fan the flames, lets hope that’s true again soon.

You talk is pragmatic, you steer a steady course down the middle but with an obvious leaning towards Lowe and then every so often posts like these portray you for the nasty s**t you are. Scooby is a comedy character you are a trouble maker. Scooby says what you dare not say and at the end of the day you hold so many Saints fans in contempt you are a sad man.

Keep banging your drum maybe one more person will be convinced by same old mish mash of nonsense.
