You would think its all close to breaking point, Man City have upped it again and this will make the other clubs spend money they havn’t got. Every commodity corrects itself at some point but this just doesn’t happen to football transfer fees and wages, but it can only sustain itself by finding richer and richer people. We have gone from local landlords to local business men, to millionaires now to billionaires. The bigger the money the less likely they are going to be English. I agree its only a matter of time before the chairman say that the only way to sustain the investment is to stop relegation, it happened in rugby league. The quicker the big clubs pull away a form a European league the better. But the big clubs want it all, European and domestic football and while they have it all we all suffer. It has to break soon we need a couple of big administrations but they all get saved at the last minute. I would vote for a break away league and leave the top four behind but that would only work if the Tottenhams and Villas come with us but they wont whilst the lure of the European is there. I do fear for the future of the Saints beyond this period. -
This notion of a footballing city is often talked about over the years, but it is just percieved wisdom. So a city with rugby union, rugby league, basketball, ice hockey as well as a couple of football clubs is a footballing city and a city that only has a football club is not. If you do the maths we probably get the same percentage of supporters as the Manchester Clubs do, it is a larger city so more supporters thats all.

They have moved the Kingsland Stand back a little bit to get more people in for concets. It's where the boards focus has moved to.

Attendance Vs Blackpool 5th lowest in the league

It seemed on Saturday that the world and his wife were coming back from Cornwall on Saturday. Its was on TV its the last weekend in August, credit cruch, fuel prices etc etc. The crowds are always slightly down this time of year. Maybe football should start in September. -
Based on what, how many other clubs do you know intimately. I would have thought from reading this message board that people are firmly entrenched in their views are far from fickle. Another example of fans knocking fans.

Yawn yawn yawn. Maybe they made their predictions as they saw fit with the information at hand and without any reference to Lowe. Not everyone is obsessed with him like you are.

So dry. Wiggle and Grey

Let me get this right, so if you have a season ticket you are immune from questioning even if its a completly different matter and if you don't go to home games you have no rights to question any one at all.
-
Why has this got a new thread when it could join the ******** on the hats of to lowe thread.

The argument is slightly different in that whilst we are paying him he should be considered along with everyone else, given the chance like every other player to prove he is the best person for the job. The only reason to completely ignore him is because the club want to sell him so there is no point him being involved as it will only effect the team when he goes etc etc. Now when the transfer window closes this ceases to be the position, so he should then train with the squad and try and break into the side. With a little cuddle and a nudge in the right direction he could be a benefit to this side.

I like it on the Man City game the commentator forgets the third goal scorers name and swears "the ball is turned in by..f*** it" Great saints team and swearing on the telly, golden days.
-
Just like Lowe invented the FA Cup and managed the England team to victory in 1966. Lowe set up the academy because he was told too, its mandatory for top flight teams to have one.

I would expect 18 points

It looks very close and looking at it only an anal jobsworth linesman or non lover of the game would have disallowed it. I remember a Liverpool goal around the same time, Kenny Dalgleish scored with an injured Phil Neal on the floor in an offside position. The goal was given and a debate raged for days over whether it should have been given or not. Madness when you look back, there must have been loads or good goals disallowed for another player being an inch in front of the defence but miles from interferring with the play.
-
The KK goal shows that the offside rules are so much better nowadays.
-
I'm aware of that so didn't include it in the list and in all honesty it wasn't meant to be serious.

Yes it is sad that Luggy returned Plymouth to the Championship and the fans have turned on him when things have got a bit tough. Afterall the board have done to turn that club around after the dark days of McCauly (or whatever his name was) the fans down there might be better off sticking together, oh and turning up in a few more numbers.
-
Has to be the Niemi shot at Fulham, we would have been high as kites for weeks if that had gone in.
-
Yes we are equally as skint but we have a better pool of youth players to fall back on, thanks to a youth system that is a legacy of 27 years of top flight football. Plymouth have not got the same to fall back on. We played beautiful football against Newcastle under Luggy, you can only **** with the **** you've got.
-
The Mirror had it down as Derby were so poor they made us look good, ****s. Good report in the Telegraph, but I would have liked a footnote after; "the south coast’s poorer sister*" *In cash only, not history, culture, style, class or time spent in the top flight of English football.
-
I agree Plymouth just havn't got the cash, they are not paying the wages so everybody is leaving and being replaced by players that are not as good, its only a matter of time before that catches up with you.
-
Nice goal. Its better if we stay under the radar quitely doing our thing, better the media big up Birmingham and QPR and let us build up a head of steam unhindered by expectation.

How much input did he have in the cycling, rowing and swimming. As far as I can see these sports had changed their structures before he was on the scene. It is interesting to hear the Woodwardesque cycling performance director talk and compare this to the outdated athletes, they sound a world apart. However I would have liked the Woodward experiment to have continued a little bit longer.
