  1. I still don't think this is right, it can only lead to problems.
  2. One more and you would have equalled the record
  3. Did you know you had pressed send before finishing. I'll finish it for you; I can agree with a lot of that Alpine. There are 2 polarised camps and me in the middle of the anti flat cap one. Winky thing.
  4. You have superior knowledge of the reserves than me, so I concede that the club had reason to judge him as not good enough, he may well have believed he was better than the reserves and was frustrated by that. But he obviously had something and to not get a fee for him was a mistake, I thought this at the time.
  5. I liked Brett a lot and appreciated his work rate, but SM could have been used for more than a few games.
  6. You are not stating a fact, I'm sorry if your family is one of thousands that lost someone but that doesn't mean others cant have an opinion and in my opinion you are talking bol***ks.
  7. No we cant keep every player, but it was a mistake to let him go. A team develops talent for the team or to make money out of them. We don't know if we would have made it here, but we didn't have a string of top class strikers keeping him out. He wasn't given a chance and we didn't try to maximise his worth. He was let go, for nothing and he has since scored a lot of goals. We judged him as worthless and that was a mistake.
  8. A touch dramatic. I think the poppy appeal makes enough money already.
  9. and the like being Brett Ormerod, in that case Scott McDonald was worth a keeping for longer. We let him go for nothing he has since scored every other game and sold on for £700,000.
  10. Brighton away (sept 11 I think) he was brilliant, still dont see why he was let go. What is the evidence of arrogance, this is always quoted with players and generally its wrong.
  11. For home games the club should also pick the lads up at the training ground and drive to SM via the M25 and come in a different route for every match. Really make it like an away game.
  12. If it was purely for entertainment fans wouldn't stick with the same club, they would be off finding the entertainment elsewhere. People generally go because they want to be part of something called Southampton Football Club, and to some that means once in a while remebering fans, friends, players and managers who once graced the stage of the oldest club on the south coast.
  13. Have you be wronged by a Watford fan in the past by any chance.
  14. I'm putting a fiver on 12 from 12.
  15. Acting like a **** on someone else's website, until he's bored/rumbled and then off to another.
  16. Its allowed in womens football as long as the thrower is wearing a skirt and no knickers.
  17. The speed and trajectory are completly different. Stoke have a set piece coach as well. Think about it, do you really think Saints fans would groan if it was effective. Still something else to blame the fans about. Delap had stopped being effective for us, I remember a game towards the end when the ball ran about a foot past him and he was too knackered to move his legs to get it, it lead to us letting in a goal. It seems as though Pulis is getting a lot more out of him.
  18. Thats put a big grin on my face. Shame there are still fans on here having a pop at others. The manager probably shouted at the team at half time as well, should he hang his head in shame. Well done lads a brilliant comeback
  19. un****inbelivable
  20. There's life in the old dog yet.
  21. I think its bull**** as well, what emergency vehicles are going to be driving inside a stadium. There are building regs about space approaching the stadium for fire engines, if and its a big if, a fire engine was allowed to enter the stadium it would drive over the pitch it wouldn't navigate itself around the pitch. I suspect we bought an off the shelf design from Barr, (to keep costs down, which is not a bad thing) but as I have said elsewhere we should have tried to transfer the essence of The Dell to the new ground, closeness of seats and steeper stands. Football clubs have always provided cheapish solutions to grounds that were more akin to warehouses than places of entertainment. This has continued today with bowl like stadiums, but clubs shouldn't be blamed for trying to progress in an efficient way. It seems like clubs can not win, the emirates is certainly not an identikit stadium but doesn't escape the criticism of the writer. However new grounds are not the devil of football, it’s the money structure and the lack of standing. If new grounds had terracing and the ticket prices were not so sky high there would not be a problem.
  22. This may have been a condition of the loan not a FL requirement.
  23. Its what these guys do, according to them every thing that is bad at this club is down to the fans, no one else.
  24. Its like being the best turned out horse at the national.
  25. Very sad, my thoughts are with Paula's family and friends.
