The US have attacked Iranian militia on the Iraq/Syria border after a US base was attacked. Things are popping up over the region.
-
Even the Russians didn't do it to Ukraine, Putin, the cunts cunt, knew it was a step too far.

I recognise that they would react to the atrocity, I don't want them to, but I understand that the makeup of the Israeli government and the feeling of many in the country means that they had to react. It's can't be a coincidence that Hamas did this attack with a hard line Israel government in power.
-
So you think the Israeli army, with 160,000 mobilised, with top equipment and short supply lines can't take the Gaza strip. Of course there will be casualties on both sides including civilians, but there will be less civilian casualties. Improving their odds by bombing, knowing that civilians will die, is a not far of being a war crime in my opinion.
-
Go in to Gaza and get the terrorists, which is what they are planning or take over the region, but without the bombing of Gaza beforehand. The bombing before is to make it safer for the Israel army, at the expense of the Palestinian lives. Without the extensive bombing before hand, there will be a greater loss of army combatants but less loss of civilian lives. In the longer term the lack of the deterrent of being able to destroy Gaza (which hasn't worked) and military operations that have a greater potential loss of their own lives, might make the Israel government look for a peace solution. But I completely understand why this is almost impossible for them to do at this time, but whilst each side reacts with violence, this 70 year old conflict isn't ending.

My brother in law a right wing anti-woke freedom of speecher, this morning is twisting himself inside over people saying stuff he doesn't like whilst defending the right for people to say stuff he does like.

Surley the only way to peace is a two (or three) state solution. The alternative is to live in a perma-conflict or move the other out. The Israeli have tried to create a situation with security measures where they can live without peace. This isn't sustainable, there are feelings on all parts of the political spectrum in Israel that the money spent on security measures could be better spent on improving the economy of Israel.
-
I don't believe that's their stated position anymore, they don't even call for a one state solution. Vile nasty group, but this is a fight for land not to destroy the other. Although there are plenty on both sides that see destroying each other also solves the land fight.

Whelk I don't why you're laughing. Hamas manifesto/reason for existing has been mentioned on here a few times, just want to be pointed in the right direction, so I can see it. Or were you laughing about my understanding of Itamar Ben-Gvir, did I get something wrong, happy to be corrected.
-
Can you point me in the direction of that manifesto please. In fairer elections the Israeli people voted in Itamar Ben-Gvir of Jewish Power, as security minister, a far right West Bank settler who preachers anti-Palestinian hate.

Nothing wrong with it and the fans prompt it.

The brutality wasn't done by the Palestinian people, i hope that helps.

As you say, its not known if this is a permanent shift with young people or will they change as they get older. I know I've seen my daughter's habits change over the last 10 years, from TV and DVDs to no tv and only the internet, to binging on netflix and prime on her own/with friends, to watching normal tv, to following normal tv series with the family in the living room. I think netflix are even holding episodes back to create shared moments. So who knows which way it will go, there's life in the old dog yet.

Apparently arranged weeks ago, but he will get a grilling for recent events.

Indeed. Added to this, some right wing Tory voters will vote for Reform to try and pull the Tory party further to the right.

The impartiality debate will at some point include a photo of Corbyn in a Russian hat.

Playing to the Talk Radio outraged crowd then, he has to earn a crust.

Two middle aged white men ranting on about the lack of diversity and going on about commercial imperative that didn't lead to better water or train companies. But the truth came out in the end, these people want to punish the BBC for being perceived as anti-brexit.

I get that they didn't like the initial reporting, but for a spokesman of the government to use that language isn't helpful. Call it out for what it is and don't claim its something that it's not.
