This is impressive posting for three reasons. 1) His English must be improving rapidly for you to know all that (that's not meant as an "I don't believe you" post as I know you're in a position for him to tell you) 2) You used the words "out of respect" , probably a first for you on here, possibly anywhere. 3) You know how to put that little accent thing over the o in Gaston

Not just me then, had 4, lost them all

Exactly this. And if those dozen are hooked on getting ****ed out of their minds every so often why are higher pricers going to stop them. Does it stop drug taking? No, they'll still drink the same amount and find "other ways" of obtaining the funds necessary. I'd be in favour of raising drinking age to 21. When we were younger we left school, started frequenting pubs (not necessarily in that order) but our "locals" were full of a mixed age group who would sort us out if we overstepped the mark. Now kids head straight for the clubs, full of their own age group (or drink at home amongst friends) and don't have others except door staff telling them when to stop. Raising it to 21 would get them used to socialising without getting ****ed, hopefully by then they won't feel the need. I'd love to see the continental cafe culture take off over here ( only thing I'm pro-Europe about) but maybe we need some longer warmer evenings.

Agree with this, totally the wrong way of dealing with the problem they are trying to overcome. But, looking for a positive, it might make some of the big breweries up their game, If they are not able to artificially lower their costs they'll have to improve their taste and quality to make their products stand out.

Don't want to get too cosy with them, they'll be our nearest rivals when the club down the M27 finally disappears

Find myself doing it and the more I try not to the worse it becomes. The O in OK I pronounce as in toe, before I've cleared customs in Spain it becomes O as in clock. People are taking the **** because it's Barton, had it been Ricky Lambert's scouse accent most here would be saying it's great he's picking up an accent already, shows he's mixing with his team-mates well etc etc

Yeah but you're forgetting, this is Portsmouth Football Club we are talking about, that doesn't operate like a business !

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20442906 We see reports like this pretty much every time an English team plays in Rome or Naples. How come there never seems to be any calls for their clubs to be banned.?

Come on Alps, not like you to beat around the bush. Do you like the guy or not?

So, to paraphrase Rolf Harris - Do we know what it was yet ?

I was thinking along the same lines. Take all those predictions with a pinch of salt, usually nutjobs talking ********, then with 35 days to go this blows up (pardon the pun) almost out of nowhere. ! Think I'll just bother with the minimum payment on the credit card bill this month

SHOCK NEWS Finding myself in total agreement with Turkish

as opposed to out of them????

All depends. Seeing someone else get a kick in the testicles is always funny. Your own, on the other hand, is another matter.

Just don't mention Taffy or sheep ****gers on Saturday !

Not at all, just a chronological order or words that I recall being referred to as "the word". -
First the "N" word, then the "C" word, now Spurs are being threatened over their fans use of the "Y" word. Just don't get this one, I've always understood Spurs fans use of it as being all inclusive, not an insult. Guess some people won't be happy until a whole alphabet has been banned. How long until Skates and Scummers are deemed offensive ?

It surprised me that despite his character's appearance he was one of the youngest actor's in the Dad's Army cast. Can't be many of them left now. Ian Lavender (Pike), any more?
-
Not saying he should or shouldn't go. Just tongue in cheek speculation, the number of times the club have surprised us with transfers none of us - or the press - saw coming, just nothing would surprise me any more .
-
............. if the Club announced that results simply weren't good enough,a change in management was required to take the club forward ............. ..........and kept Adkins but dispensed with the services of Les Reed?

If Rob Stickells is the same Rob Stickells I used to go to games with many moons ago (and have since lost touch) I would imagine if a big man swore and looked in his direction, bottle or no bottle, he would have been very frightened indeed.

Room 101 - Milligan's views on Portsmouth What a Hero
Wurzel replied to monosaint's topic in The Lounge
Thought I was being taken to see him at The Mayflower last week. Turned out to be Sarah Millican. Good, but not what I was expecting -
Saw him stop for a photo with a young lad outside Kingsland/Chapel corner. Thought it quite ironic he was posing for it right in front of a burger van

Didn't notice the incident so can't comment on it specifically. But what's worrying is that from reports he clearly did react to something he heard/saw from the fans behind him. It was from the home end so I am guessing it only came from a small minority, but now fan's of every team in the country know we have a keeper who is easy to wind up. How much will he be concentrating on the game when a whole end behind him is chanting "dodgy keeper" and worse. Professionals have to rise above stuff like that and ignore it.
