  1. Does anyone know of any good services for sending SMS texts to mobiles from PC. In particular bulk messages, want to send same message to around 100 numbers . Likely to be a once a year thing at this sort of numbers, just a dozen or so a month for rest of the year, so hapy to pay per message but don't want a system that involves a monthly subscription. Is Skype any good for this? And don't want it linked to my personal mobile number so Android apps seem out of the question .
  2. Great photo. From the mixed reaction faces in the crowd clearly an unsegregated area
  3. My Dad has just commented " If he wins, expect the chinese to start chopping of athletes legs next week"
  4. I thought this thread was answering a hypothetical question. I didn't realise he has been allowed in! He's running/bouncing later this morning
  5. Don't know about anyone dying but when at junior school a girl in our class was called out of a lesson, her younger brother a year or so below was on school trip to the baths and had split himself open doing a belly flop from the top board.. Had a full torso length scar which he was proud to show to all when he eventually returned to school. Also pleased to see from this thread I was far from the only one that was too scared to jump or dive from the top board. Always thought that would be a shameful secret I would have to take to my grave
  6. Unfortunately "lots and lots of bagged up coins" is not legal tender (£1 & £2 coins excepted) http://www.royalmint.com/aboutus/policies-and-guidelines/legal-tender-guidelines
  7. or anything up to £99,999.99 in the skate dialect of spinglish
  8. Not to mention repeatedly posting a photo of 2 identical shirts alongside each other whilst stating a preference for the one on the left
  9. This was from 2010. Think there may be a tad less sand left in the top half by now.
  10. Think it's time we all started learning this. [video=youtube_share;cHcunREYzNY]
  11. It became a tour when the poor sods over there found out that no-one had paid the fare for them to come back again. They are "working their passage" back home
  12. Simple question is, does he need those type of prosthetics to walk? No. I have an uncle with a false leg (drove lorry over a land mine). His false leg looks like.... well a false leg. If OP was able to run fast using that type of prosthetic I would say let him run. But have you ever seen anyone walking down your local high street with the sort of false leg and foot he races in? No, because they are specifically designed not just for routine movement but for speed. And much as his natural body may be at a disadvantage, that gives him an unnatural advantage. I do sympathise with his situation but a line has to be drawn. If they (the artificial running limbs) are allowed then why not a motorised wheelchair.? Could a basketball team of midgets using "flubber" soled shoes be refused? Paralympics are, sadly for him, where he belongs.
  13. Yes he should be allowed to compete. BUT, he shouldn't be allowed to use the artificial limbs.

  15. Pretty much how market forces work for ticket touts, and that's an industry that has thrived on that model for longer than any of us care to remember. (doesn't mean I condone it but proves it DOES work)
  16. Presumably, technically a trialist is invited for a trial and makes his own arrangements. Taking contracted players would have required insurance premiums being paid.
  17. This may be a clue . Rosie may have just remembered her other pin number
  18. Sweepstake entry. They have taken the **** so often can I be really precise and go for 14:59 on 18th August 2012 - the "crowd" are in place, Bompey and the officials are waiting patiently to kick off, only then to realise that there is no opposition, and a plain white van is heading rapidly up the M275 with the takings from the turnstiles.
  19. Disagree. A phoenix club should retain the old club's history. If it is the only club in the city and was only started as a direct result of the old one's liquidation then in my eyes that is still "Portsmouth FC". It wouldn't be a FCUM scenario, set up whilst MUFC still exist. And on a more important note, it needs to retain the history so that history shows what happens to a club when they get caught cheating.
  20. No problem. He made it clear that it was in collusion with other teams skippers/players. The Premier League will soon make sure the story is "buried". Also good opportunity for the club to put a positive spin on it, emphasising the difference between the "old" club and the current "Southampton way"
  21. Not exactly home end but was in the middle of Arsenal fans at Cardiff for Cup Final. Daughters were 2 of the player mascots, and we didn't get tickets till we were there . No point trying to hide it, dressed in yellows, with flag etc. Had one or two (or more, plenty more before the game) so joined in our songs, even standing up alone, arms outstretched for a rendition of "Stand up if you love the Saints" at one stage. Think I was tolerated, most around us seemed a bit plastic anyway, may have been different if we won. Thought I was in trouble at the end when I got a tap on the shoulder, turned , and saw the stereotypical looking thug, 40ish , beer belly, Arsenal tattoos, grade 1, calling me from the aisle about 8 seats away. He pointed at me (oh ****), then pointed at the rest of you massed behind the goal, and started clapping (phew) . Don't think it's something I'd ever choose to do again, certainly not in a non-neutral venue

    Yellow 3rd kit

Well if that's not a definition of being confused by which team is which I don't know what is. Not relevant to a third kit but I often wonder if a Saints player (for example) plays all home games and around 50% of away games in an (old stylee) red and white striped shirt, is he likely - in the heat of the game as you describe - to mistakenly pass to a Stoke or Sunderland player, irrespective of what colour strip Saints are in on the day. ?

    Yellow 3rd kit

Agreed. Clubs wear change kits just for the sake of it some times. All white shirt (ok with pinstripes invisible from anywhere further than 10 yards) red shorts red socks against mainly red shirts with white stripes white shorts and white socks. Anyone confused by which team is which needs a serious eye test.
  24. That's that then. Any chance MLT still had of an England recall is definitely gone now
  25. I have no problem with a change in style as long as the traditional red/white colour scheme is kept to in some way. Apart from the sash shirt which was my favourite football shirt of all time I haven't liked a home shirt since 1985. There's only so much you can do with stripes and they just never look "class" whatever you do with them. I quite simply just don't like the shirt, for no other reason than I simply don't like it. As for people who say they will buy it anyway (to wear, not talking collectors) even though they don't like it , FFS get a life and a mind of your own.
