Indeed. Horrific throw back to Russball. Row Z clearance surely?? But NO. Let’s fuck it up the Saints way!!
-
I like Still’s Press Cons. Beyond that I’m starting to wonder. We have talented players at this level who are currently putting in solid League 2 performances. Anyone else starting to wonder about Will Still?
-
Totally agree. I was in The Chapel yesterday and the atmosphere in the three blocks nearest the away fans was great. Contrast that with the Northam “Wall Of Sound”. No idea who at the club thought that the stadium changes were a good idea. Another thing they overlooked is that Saints now play the first half of most sunny games straight into the sun, whereas the Chapel end of the ground gets less sun in both the first AND second halves. Why throw away the advantage we always had? Anyone notice that away teams winning the toss haven’t “changed us round” for over a year? Unlike the club they’re not stupid.

Saints expect every man to do his duty. Nothing less than a win is acceptable.

Baz makes mistake but he really isn’t as bad as many suggest. As recently as the first game of the season, he pulled off an amazing save minutes before we won the game. If he hadn’t Disney+ would have been 2-0 up and probably would have won the game. There’s always someone who’s “the whipping boy “. At the moment it’s him. At Saintwbu says, the managers and coaches clearly rate Baz more than many of the fans. I’m happy to rely on Will Still’s judgment on that.

Up until yesterday I was excited about the prospect of thrashing the Skates in two weeks. Now I’m nervous. Hopefully with the new players already in, and anything else that happens between now and 7pm on Monday, we can go into the Derby with a lot more confidence. A bad result against the Skates at this stage will sap confidence out of the team and potentially fcuk the rest of the season. A solid win could and should do the reverse.

Disappointed with yesterday’s result. Same old issues resurfacing. We are creating more chances but still lacking the clinical edge to put them in the net. The points made about the midfield are spot on in this thread. We are repeatedly being overrun and out muscled in midfield. As a result, the our already vulnerable defence is being put under constant pressure forcing silly mistakes and fouls and gifting unnecessary goals to opponents. It’s early days in the season but we need to kick on after the International Break if we are to have any chance of automatic promotion or even a playoff spot.

Will they eventually bankrupt Ed Sheeran?? 😉
-
Not sure if this is good business or shortsighted? I suppose much will depend on how we spend the money, together with the Dibling funds?
-
We only have ourselves to blame. Gifted 2 goals to Stoke. Failed to take our best chances - end of We will get better - but we need to do that very soon if we are serious about promotion.

Most importantly, any chance Fernandes is staying? What’s the current likelihood? Played really well in the second half on Saturday and looked to be enjoying himself. If he stays he’ll be one of the best, and quite possibly THE best, midfielder in this year’s Championship.
-
100% agree with that! I live in hope that he’ll stay. If he does, he’s going to be one of (if not THE) standout Championship midfielders of the season.

I have a very bad feeling about this game. It has potential “Opening Game Of The Season Fcuk Up” written all over it. And then a Disney + episode.
-
This has an opening game fcuk up written all over it. We can then look forward to repeated humiliation in the first episode of the next season of Welcome To Wrexham. `Apart from that I’m very confident.

Can’t remember the last time we had an exciting and positive pre season. Early days but I’m not sure that the current one is very inspiring so far
-
Another genius level performance in mismanagement by the club. How on earth has one of our best players been squandered? Leaving on a free ffs! Truly awful management by the club and a massive loss to Saints.
-
Just had a quick flick through this thread and, to be honest, I was shocked by some of the unjustifiable comments about Adam Armstrong. Yes he’s struggled at Premier League level (most of the current squad have) but does anyone remember the important goals he scored in the 23/24 Championship season, including two in the play-off semi-final home leg against West Brom - or perhaps even the winning goal he scored in the play-off final against Leeds?
-
Danny Röhl - our best option given that the club as a whole and current squad specifically are definitely not as attractive as they once were. Years of poor management within the club and regular team manager changes have massively reduced our allure. Apparently Röhl was keen when Martin was sacked but the club weren’t prepared to meet compensation demands at that stage. Weird really given the financial disaster which relegation has now caused.

I assume you’re living somewhere on ‘Planet Donald’
-
Sadly we’ll be left with a pile of utter shite in terms of players for next season. Anyone decent will be on the first flight out of this shit show. And who can blame them?
-
Would not surprise me if it is Danny Rohl
-
100% agree. WTF are the club doing?? Useless
-
Surely that’s Res Ipsa Loquitur??? Though roughly translated it means exactly the same - “The Fcuk Up Speaks For Itself “
-
The wholesale reorganisation of SMS to create the so-called “Northam Wall Of Sound” has, without doubt, been a colossal failure and massive waste of money.

Derby’s lowest points relegation record definitely looks under threat
