...once we reach the front of the queue

One of the ironies is that if we do end up with the Norway model - despite the leavers telling us it would never happen - we will be more in hock to the EU than before. Not only do they not get a vote, but they have to be in Schengen as well.
-
Its an options paper by a small group of foreign ministers for use in a discussion about the way forward for the EU. There are many different and competing papers being discussed. Poland is very anti this paper, thats why they've leaked it. Its true but its importance is massively overblown - as with most things EU in the British media.

They are losing money and will need recapitalisation for sure, but its a couple of tens of billions not armeggedon. Banks are like a combination of bookie and insurance company now - covering business against unexpected movements in price / value. Most of their exposure is covered by other positions. Bookies write billions of pounds of business each years even though their capitalisation is a tiny fraction of that. The wins offset the losses and nobody seriously expects that they will have to pay out on every bet.

At one point I thought we would end up postumously on youtube for most dramatic accident on that viaduct. An over keen caravan tried to push us through the barrier and down a 600 feet drop.

I know - but if it were simply empty like much of the Scottish highlands it would be understandable. Its all the signs of human habitation - houses, shops roads etc but largely absent of people I find odd.

Interesting thanks. I guess travel times from place to place are a factor too. No matter how many times I visit France I always end up under estimating distances. My favourite French places are the medium sized towns - the villages frequently seem dead and the cities a bit feral.
-
Looks pretty. Serious question, if a bit dumb. Why do most small French towns, unless they are heavily touristed, look half abandoned, even in high summer? Most houses seem to be shuttered during the day (even when its not the hot part of France) and few people on the streets. Go in a non supermarket shop / bar and you frequently are the only one there. It cant all be holiday homes.

Says the man who doesnt know the difference between derivatives and debt and thinks Deutsche owes 50 times the GDP of Germany and will wipe out Europe.

Andy Carroll was £35m. -
Its not unusual for a poster of your intelligence to misunderstand what was written. He drew a parallel with the referendum, I did likewise.
-
Fantastic! 63.5% of the electorate didnt vote for Brexit. That must mean its void.

Good post, exactly this. This is the third year of assuring supporters everything is fine with managers and players going nowhere - and then caving / cashing in at the first opportunity. There is more than one way to run a club sustainably. -
Good move. I like Corbyn, Im glad he is an MP and was prepared to give him a chance - but he's clearly not leader material.
-
Can we ditch the black box crap? Its just a room with a video projector in it and a link to a laptop. Whats on the laptop is database of potential players and managers. What puts that data in are human scouts. The clever part is making sure you have the right scouts and can interpet the information available.

And consistently errors / lies / spin over several years too. Its got to the stage where you believe the Sun more than the clubs official denials / platitudes. -
CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons

Thats true, but was it because he is intrinsically inconsistent and cant deliver on a regulalr basis, or because he was unhappy here and wanted to leave? He was very consistent at Salzburg. He's worth more than £32m. -
Johnny B is too busy. The best part of his rant was in assuming Remains criticism of general thickery and ignorance was all directed at working class people. Thats his predjudice coming out, not Remain's.
-
He was pretty much a failure at Lyon. They had been French Lg1 champions for eight successive years before he was appointed, normally finishing around 15 points clear. In his three years he managed second, third and second and was then fired.
-
Either that or some face saving fig leaf fudge based on the Norway model. Nothing substantive will change, except as a country we've blown our credibility.
-
Surely they are getting their knickers in a twist because he has achieved less and less as his career has 'progressed'.
-
His career seems to have pretty much gone in reverse. Monaco, Lille and Lyon were all bigger clubs than Nice
