It is, but its particulalrly acute in Southampton. I used to find the whinging culture really depressing. Brighton was like night and day by comparison.

So you rubbish the post then agree with the content and say what did we expect? Awesome

We only paid a grand total of £1.014m for them though. I guess RK reckons he can spot potential and coach the rest.

Places to watch Saints in the US
buctootim replied to fborosaint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
The Lucky bar near Dupont Circle is good. Lots of tvs split across two floors. Heavy Man U / Man C bias for PL but they might put Saints on if you ask nicely. http://luckybardc.com/ "Don't see your game on the full schedule? E-mail paul@luckybardc.com or call us at 202-331-3733 and we'll see what we can do" https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/1221+Connecticut+Ave+NW,+Washington,+DC+20036,+USA/@38.906604,-77.041304,3a,84.3y,104.46h,75.24t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1sDLcUjrwtSKSXQJbsb2F4pg!2e0!3e2 !4m2!3m1!1s0x89b7b7b89cf4988f:0x8dc2e2294e5a2a7a?h l=en Others here but I havent tried them. http://www.yelp.co.uk/search?find_desc=soccer+bars&find_loc=Dupont+Circle%2C+Washington%2C+DC -
But why would Ings, a few months away from being a free agent, tie himself to a long contract at a club in relegation trouble?
-
Heinous haircut. Plus he looks like he's wearing his dad's shirt.
-
Lallana is valued at £8.5m and Shaw at £6m. Thats some depreciation.
-
Agree. From those highlights he played alright generally but his finishing was terrible, wasted at least three clear chances one on one with GK. We dont need a forward who cant finish.
-
Thres's no direct train route from Tunbridge Wells - you'd neeed to go a long way round via Hastings or Redhill. I havent used the bus but I'd imagine it would be quicker. Remember the station is Falmer not Brighton, its on the outskirts of the City, by Sussex University. http://www.buses.co.uk/travel/service.aspx?serviceid=1173 http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/TBW/FMR/310714/1615/dep/310714/2015/dep edit its not really faster, though you dont have to change

At least there are direct flights from the UK to South Africa
-
Looks like Koeman wants to see everybody and make up his own mind who to shift and who to keep.
-
No tweets for 12m. not exactly a blow by blow account of the match.

Billy sharp is our joint top scorer for the season...

McQueen seems to be doing well tonight on the right. Thought he was mostly left sided?
-
He should sack his agent in that case. The fact only one club has shown interest and they are in the championship would weaken his hand, not strengthen it.
-
Good news Pirlo. We're selling you to Southampton!
-
From a purely contract law point of view I think you could sack him for breach of contract and then sue for consequential loss (ie the loss of transfer fee). No idea if there is some PL / FIFA rule that trumps this.
-
Yep I dont think we're going to be going head to head with them for a while yet My point was more about the fact that for clubs like Saints which have a mostly local, or at least UK fanbase making and selling your own kit direct can be more profitable. Clubs like Man U with a global market need the worldwide distribution only a big name can offer - hence the huge headline figure.
-
That wasnt the question. Koeman said he'd be training on his own at Staplewood. would be interesting to know if he showed.
-
Dunno. With kit sponsorship you get a headline sponsorship figure but make much less from shirt sales - because you have to buy them from the manufacturer at inflated prices. With own label you obviously don't get the sponsorship but do have a much higher profit margin, so the apparent income from the kit sponsor may not be as high as it first appears.

The commercial side (sponsorship, hospitatility, venue hire, loyalty products etc) was one of Cortese's biggest failings and it wont be turned around in 6 months. You need 18 months to really make a difference. That said we will never attract the kind of money the top clubs do until we have their profile.

Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez
buctootim replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Presumably there has been an offer for him then. -
Are Tadic and Pelle upgrades on Lallana and Lambert?
buctootim replied to simo's topic in The Saints
Almost certainly they won't light up the league in the same way as the Eredivisie, but there's more than enough to suggest they'll do a good job. Lambert was largely finished as a week in week out 90 minute player so the comparison doesn't hold water anyway. There were a couple of little snippets on the training vid today showing how easily Tadic held off another Saints player trying to get the ball.
