In my experience its worth biting the bullet and paying for the best medium in your sector (no idea what that is). Agree its not directly comparable, just an odd symmetry about it. It's more worrying that successive Scotland managers have rated him behind Craig Gordon, Allan McGregor and even Matt Gilks at Burnley.

He was, agree - but for long periods of his career he's been out of form and been dropped or backup - although admittedly some of that was injury related. Don't forget Boruc was brought in to replace him at Celtic and he's only ever been third choice for Scotland. For £8m plus you'd expect someone a bit less patchy.
