  1. Ive been on the driverless shuttle link between Gatwick south and north terminals dozens of times and despite it always working flawlessly it is always slightly unsettling to be able to look through the front window in the front carriage and notice there is no driver. Illogically I think if they put in a false drivers cabin it wouldnt bother me....
  2. Anyway this strike is about grabbing as much as you can for yourself and screw everyone else - a basic tenet of the unregulated free market principle Dune is always tediously banging on about (without actually understanding what he advocates).
  3. Wrong. Can you really not use a clearly explained alcohol calculator? http://www.alcohol-stuff.co.uk/tools/bac-calculator/index.php?gender=male&quantity=20&percentage=4&num_of_drinks=10&weight=160
  4. I wouldnt take him back. Yes he has some skill but a lousy attitude. The fact that QPR dont want to keep him after three months, depsite Puncheon (allegedly) paying for his own transfer should say something.
  5. Bit like Fonte early part of last season then...
  6. Its a useful cypher for a crap post. As soon as I see that stuff I immediately know the poster has an IQ of around 80 and can safely disregard the contents.
  7. Its exactly the point. It may well have been edited out solely because Ross is supposed to be presenting an entertaining show and that song wasnt. 'Cleverly' pointing out that there may have been some hyperbole around Jesus Christ's life is not new. Its been done a million times since Life of Brian. To be worth a slot of a national broadcast you need to be able to take the same old subject and inject some life and humour into it, ideally without pointlessly offending millions who do believe. Michin failed on both counts.
  8. Its fine to be satirical if you are funny. It wasnt.
  9. Yes, but in little bits very deep - not the huge easily accessible reservoirs everyone was hoping for.
  10. You could apply that logic to Grimsby, Hull half of Glasgow and 20 other major places in the UK. There is more logic to defending the Falklands than troops in Afghanistan or Iraq.
  11. Verbal can recommend a book explaining that.
  12. No he doesnt. There is no right to land 300 miles off your coast and the wishes of the islanders should be the paramount determinant.
  13. Dont know anything about it. Fascinated by creating super chickens on a lathe though....
  14. Im no expert on tax law - but as far as I understand it some countries like the US and Britain have a complicated system whereby the headline rate of corporation tax is quite high but that there are numerous allowances and exemptions - so there is a large gap between the headline rate and the rate actually collected. Other countries like Ireland have a lower headline rate but a more streamlined, simpler system with few exemptions. I have no idea what the respective benefits / diadvantages are of both systems, other than some multinationals with clever lawyers seem to be able to milk the system. edit: Report from the TUC on this issue here. Yes I know its the TUC, but interesting read http://www.tuc.org.uk/extras/corporatetaxgap.pdf
  15. I doubt Sharp will go anywhere in January. His wife gave birth to a full term baby that died at the end of October. His isnt going to be saying to her 8 weeks later - "never mind luv you should be over by now, lets go to Southampton because I can be a big star there and its only 200 miles from your mum, friends and family".
  16. Alan Carr and Esther Rantzen. Mind you I'd pay good money to see them perform together - possibly in a three way with the Elephant Man.
  17. Best insult for a normal / slim woman is "get your fat arse out of here". The reaction is normally electric and you just know it causes hours or days of self doubt (not baes on current or frequent experience you understand....)
  18. Annexation I imagine
  19. IMO Germany genuinely want to build an inclusive, united federal Europe in order to end wars and compete successfully as a bloc against North America and the Far East -and so they want /need Britain to be a part of that. Misguided in my view, but genuinely held. France just wants to be top dog in Europe, or as close as they can get by being 'best mates' with the biggest lad in the class.
  20. Berlin is a good shout. Kiev also. Wont be cold in June.
  21. They'd be better off with Kim Yun Il.
  22. Might not be so. His oldest son was being groomed to take over, but he fell out of favour for sneaking off to Tokyo Disneyland on a false passport and saying he didnt think three generation of the same family should rule. Not much is known about the younger Kim ....
  23. But thats not credible is it? There is no way that PFC's real income (tickets, tv rights merchandising and pies) from gates around 14,000 is nearly paying for a playing staff on legacy premiership wages when Saints aren't breaking even when debt free, crowds of c24,000 and many players on legacy lg1 wages. There may have been some smart accountancy portraying owners loans and charges against assets as 'income' or order to balance the books temporarily - but that just makes the club even more unattractive to any purchaser with half a brain, not more.
  24. Ive never ignored you purposefully, though I may have failed to respond a few times Ive had more contact with you in the past month or so than with my mum....
  25. Am I close?
