Clearly the guy is on big money. RL wanted shot for obvious reasons and exerted pressure for him to go. JP made it clear (to the best of my recollection) that he was not picking Rudi at the start of the season because he wanted to focus on the players he expected to be here, but that if Rudi was here when the window closed he would be considered/selected. There is nothing sinister here, and probably nothing different to what happens in clubs up and down the country to varying degrees. Our cicumstances are perhaps more extreme, leading to additional pressure. We probably want him to go now for the very same reasons, and have signed a replacement on a fraction of what he gets paid. Thats the economics of the situation we are in.

Are we the only team who can't sack our manager, regardless of the results?

Makes you proud doesn't it. Sort of a throw back to the Ted Bates era when he was given time to build things. -
I just laugh now when I read things like this...

August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
Faz replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Why is Administration a certainty? -
It's not his fault he's playing now is it? Apparently we are looking to strengthen at CB so he will, hopefully, get the time he needs. I'd rather support him than slag him.
-
Agree. If there's a position where lack of experience will cost you, its CB. He's a youngster still learning. In time he'll be fine.

Where's the logic in Wilde selling to Crouch who then hands them over to Fulthorpe?
-
As posted by St.Patrik on the Christian Dailly thread. Interesting it's from a Midlands paper. Perhaps it has some mileage???

If we could get the pitch to look like that we might stand a chance. Where's Herefords Groundsman when you need him?
-
It's clearly not possible to get the flu whilst you have a bruised ankle. He's deffo off.

Didn't say you were stupid or simple minded. It's just that the combination of your chosen user name and alcohol are not likely to lead to a happy outcome. But hey, it's a free country. It was advice, not an order.

Yes, I have a very limited tableau of advice for maudlling nearly sextogenarians.

Calvin Davies: Strong rumour of loan deal to Plymouth
Faz replied to qwertySFC's topic in The Saints
And that's on a good run, trust me I know. -
If we are not in control of that part of the process, we can line up hoops from here to Denmark and it wouldn't make a jot of difference. Oh. and they are closed for their winter break.
-
Sadly, they have already so infected this site, it has become their "spritual" home.
-
How do you come to that conclusion?
-
I though we were trying something new. The way it's going, Charlton ARE going down, Forest ARE going down, Donny Are going down. maybe even Watford and Norwich ARE going down. Should be interesting.
-
So we all change manager. Then what? It can't work for everyone, can it?
-
From the horses mouth.

Bottom line is that behaviour would have got RC banned from any AGM and any premises of any company any where. It was a complete PR disaster for the anti-Lowe brigade, both interms of Chorleys actions, and the walk out. I for one (and I don't think I'm completely stupid) assumed Crouch must have voted in favour of RLs election for him to have got 95% of the vote. It's only later I realised Crouch had walked. And that for me sums up why Crouch is not fit to take back the club - I don't doubt his passion, but if passion was all it took there a 20 blokes on here who could do it. He just confirmed his lack of nous for all to see. Shame.
-
Call it semantics if you like, but his contact had expired. What if Pearson chose not to take the new contract on offer? And if he had it wouldn't have been a universally welcomed appointment, for which RL would have been held responsible.

Did he sack pearson?
