Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we are reported to have been in the running, but £25m is a cracking deal for Norwich -perhaps an EFL record?? They sold the Murphy lad to Newcastle for £11m in Jan, which feels closer to the mark. Then again Million’s are tossed around like confetti these days, so what do I know.

If you're going to sack off every full back beaten at the far post by a bigger stronger striker there won't be many on your short-list of acceptable players - if any. Targett may or may not be the real deal, but making a judgement on that one incident is somewhat facile.

I like him, but he wanted to go and he (or his father) had been agitating for a move. £12m was a fair price given his post injury contribution. I though it represented a bit of a punt by WBA (imagine the meltdown on here if the roles had been reversed), and they'll do well to get back what they paid imo.
