    Billy Bragg

Ok, own up. Who did it. Hate mail urges villagers to drive out Billy Bragg
  2. If we win all our remaining games we will be at least second. Job done.
  3. We already know that to be the case. As with most clubs there is a transfer committee who look at players and make recommendations. The manager gives a list of who fits the bill and the CEO goes and tries to do a deal. Just because they guy was already on our radar doesn't mean thast Adkins doesn't want him in the building, or has had no say in it. Can we please try to ensure that all posts have a Nigelism.
  4. Their next 3 gaems: A Vs Forest H Vs Leeds A Vs QPR Thats a nil return from those three then. The bottom 3 beckons. Chinnery looks for his "parachute".
  5. Google it, there are plenty of methods. Not sure 'd try any of them on a £7.50 jumper though.
  6. My guess is he doesn't want to be an impact player - he wants to be first choice. As soon as he wasn't, he sulked. I'm not saying that as fact, just my interpretation.
  7. To put it bluntly - research dollars. And I'm not saying it's wrong to strive for alternatives to fossil fuels, or to lower emissions, but that's where the bucks are at the moment. As for the Royal Society, and the APS, it is entirely possioble that some have backed the wrong horse, and seek to protect their position. It wouldn't be the first time - and at those levels it's about reputation. The insurers are backing a one way bet - if man made global warming is indeed true, they win; if it isn't, they haven't lost. Furthermore, it becomes a self re-inforcing proposition. Swiss re say demonstrate you're developing strategies to lower Carbon Intensity, Conglomorate A says we must fund research into this to manage our premiums, Scientist Yuri says of course 'll loolk into this for you. Is the world warming up? Undoubtedly. Has it been warmer in the past? Seems so. Has the rate of increase co-incided with increased industrial output? Evidently so. Are they cause and effect? Don't know. Personally I don't have a scoobie, but I would like the opportunity to hear all sides.
  8. The point is not whether he has any specialism in Climate Change - the point is that debate is stifled, and the (significant) contrary view is not allowed a voice. One has to ask, why?
  9. Was this sent from your noble?
  10. They'll just have to go "old school" and train on the car park.........oh, they don't own the car park.
  11. Premium Savings Bonds. Might get nothing, might get £1m, but at least your capital's safe, and the average rate of return is 1.5%.
  12. Pinkscarf is an Agent Provocateur sent by TUI. IMO. Allegedly.
  13. I'd say a union leader paying himself £100kpa is greedy. And he still gets paid it no matter how many people he persuades to go on strike. Actually, I've just realised it far too low. If they made the Union Leader's pay the same as a FTSE CEO, it would attract more than the usual meat-heads, and we would stand half a chance of avoiding the petty squabbles we currently see. A couple of old Etonians in the Union hot seat and most issues would be sorted down the club.
  14. Pinkscarf, I don't know who you are - your first acts on here were to start a couple of curious threads - but you sure ain't no lady. Although the offending posts on here seem to have been removed.
  15. Last night I was pretty well dressed, in a pub, talking about football. I know jack schidt.
  16. People over-reacting? On here? Surely not.

    for sale

I can predict with some certainty that the club will, at some point, be sold. I look forward to being able to say "I told you so".
  18. TBF, he is right.
  19. Al that will do is prompt them to ask where you got the money from. Pretty standard anti-money laundering stuff. Also the world is rife with "washed" cheques - nicked in the post and the encoding details changed by the bad guys. Also pretty standard marketing stuff. Also just making conversation - some peope just aren't very good at it. I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't ask.
  20. Was it for the repetitive use of "Course you do Western"?
  21. Conspiracy theories: No. 37. He was a fan before he was a player
  22. That's not the Agent's fault - more the limited talent of his client. If you can only deliver one line, then the options are severely restricted.
  23. Yep. T shirt, shorts, ankle socks, trainers. Kingsland.
  24. Looking at the pictires on the website, the T Shirts said Saints Foundation - not the fooball club (maybe I moot point I accpet). Perhaps the foundation plans to use them for other events? Perhaps the intend to give them to people who really need them? Who knows. But hardly a PR disaster.
  25. Do we know yet how much Brighton's new stadium will cost, or it's capacity?
