How on Earth does Jordan Henderson still get picked for England....? #rhetoricalquestion
-
Our scheduled opponent this week is still in the FA Cup (Leicester)
-
Note to self: stop being baffled so easily
-
People that care enough to read and comment on a thread they don't care about....?
-
Indeed. The pre-season's most baffling transfer IMO...
-
So, if a team can veto (unchallenged) a potential rearranged date, why didn't we veto the April date that PNE favoured...? Given a choice, surely we'd have favoured this week? Ergo, why does PNE's preference trump ours...?
-
I said it at the time, and repeat it now.... I'm baffled as to why we sold a prolific Championship striker when we (seemingly) didn't need to. Given how profligate we can be in the final 3rd at times, I can't fathom why we let Tella go (yes, we got a decent fee for him but what's that worth if we don't go back up at the first attempt...?)
-
No reason why we couldn't have rearranged the PNE for this week (unless they get a veto on choice of dates?)
-
Straight out of the Nicola Sturgeon guidebook.... That turned out well...
-
It's usually the vocal minority that lead people to believe a given situation is more widespread than it actually is... (There's probably a posh name for such a syndrome) You'll probably find a couple of handfuls of posters on here (maximum) who have labelled Smallbone as "useless"... so around 0.7% of Saintsweb members I would estimate....
-
Since when did an individual club have a veto on rearranged fixture dates? Yeah, sure each club can express an opinion on the reschedule date options but surely the final decision comes down to the Football League? Or am I misunderstanding how this kinda thing works?
-
Yep, totally agree with that. Yesterday was a relatively rare occasion where his initial subs were premature and didn't improve us, quite the opposite (IMO of course).
-
Yeah, they probably could have conveyed their legitimate frustration in a more constructive manner, but this is football fans that we're talking about here and there's not much overlap with 'Mensa membership' and 'football fans' in that particular Venn diagram...
-
I actually thought Jack had a good game yesterday but, as others have said, there's no point playing well individually if it's going to interfere with the 'automatisms' of the team as a whole. We seemed somewhat disjointed at the back yesterday at times, which is hardly surprising when you've got players playing out of their natural position. Russ has said several times in recent press conferences that he's guilty of over-thinking team selections... Maybe he should start to take on board his own advice... Of course, a win's a win, and it ended up being a convincing one, but we certainly don't make things easy for ourselves during the course of the game.
-
To be fair (briefly), Russ's subs up to that point had made us worse rather than better, so, without the benefit of hindsight, you can probably understand people's frustration at that moment in the game.

Having only been to a handful of games the last couple of seasons I hadn't realised until yesterday how one footed Bazunu is. There were some very awkward clearances using his right foot on the left side of the penalty area.

At the game. We look very comfortable but that's partly down to Sunderland being poor. We should be out of sight by now but we're not clinical enough up front. Can't see Sunderland being as poor in the second half, so this this far from over yet. COYR!

Was walking to the stadium dejected because of the late Ipswich 'winner'... and just seen the result.... hahahaha! (Now watch us lose of course....)
