What do the rules say? Is a linesman 'allowed' to give offside if he's not 100% sure (which no human could have been in such a close scenario) but flags anyway because he thinks there's a strong chance the attacker is offside?

  4. IIRC, some people were labelling Coutinho as too lightweight for the Premier League before he signed for Liverpool...
  5. I guess we'll see one of the charges on the club removed from Companies House website now? Also, weren't they due to pay back some money to one of their other benefactors this month? Robinson?

  7. Boruc Clyne - Fonte - Lovren - Shaw Schneiderlin - Wanyama JWP - Ramirez - Lallana Osvaldo Subs: Davis, Chambers, Yoshida, Cork, S.Davis, Lambert, Rodriguez
  8. I assume the Football League are aware of this potential breach of the strict conditions attached to the issuing of the 'golden share'?
  9. But given it was so close, how could a human being have been 100% certain the player was offside? The human brain isn't capable of being 100% certain in split second situations. Surely?
  10. Given it was so close, how could the linesman have been 100% certain is was offside? According to the rules, does the linesman have to be 100% certain before be can legitimately give offside or is he allowed to give it on a less than 100% hunch? If the former then it was an incorrect decision, if the latter then it was a valid decision.
  11. Just watched the game again. You can see Osvaldo was frustrated by the lack of a good through ball from the likes of Lambert and Rodriguez on a few occasions. Conversely, you can see that him and Ramirez will click once they get a run in the team together. I guess we have to hope that Osvaldo doesn't become too frustrated with the slightly inferior quality of supply from those players not quite at his level... P.s. Banega = missing piece of the jigsaw IMO
  12. Points from these two games last season = 0; points from these two games this season = 4 #progress
  13. Are you suggesting that all games that we dominate from here on in will result in the same outcome? I'm simply suggesting that predicting a 3-0 victory was perfectly reasonable where as the implication in your original question was that it was a foolhardy prediction. On another day we'll win this type of game playing in more or less the same way. IMO of course.
  14. They're probably thinking: "We'll win plenty of games 3-0 this season with that level of domination and chances"
  15. He's being marked by 3 defenders and we're struggling to get the ball to him
  16. No foul? WTF!
  17. This, sadly
  18. Come on Rickie
  19. Come on Ossie... Get the ball in a goal scoring position!
  20. You gotta score those JRod!
  21. When was the last time we had neither Morgan or Cork on the pitch...?
  22. Morgan and Shaw off!
  23. Clyne and Osvaldo on
  24. JWP putting in some quality balls
