I work for the company I do more because of who the owner/boss is rather than because I have an undying love for the company itself. If the owner/boss was to leave then I would be as likely to follow him out of the door as stay. People work for people not for companies. This notion that a manager should have unconditional loyalty to a football club is a little quaint IMO

Cheers for the update LD. I don't suppose Evans alluded to what end game Cortese is aiming for? (i.e. either to engineer a buy out or to persuade the Liebherrs to stick to his plan?)

Here's a random thought that just entered one's head.... Maybe the Liebherrs are wanting to float the club (turn it into a PLC) and in doing so would need to have a more transparent and re-organised boardroom, with Cortese losing his autonomy in the process?
