Not necessarily. That assumes that Adkins wouldn't have taken us down too. We'll never know what would've happened under Adkins so the 'worst' accusation we can levy at Cortese if we go down is that it "didn't work". Doesn't mean he was "wrong" per se. Subtle difference IMO.

And he qualified a superlative to boot...

Again, not condoning the way it was handled, but has it crossed anyone's mind that Adkins might be privately hugely relieved that Cortese has brought things to an end sooner rather than later? If we're to believe everything we've read, the underlying tension must have been almost overwhelmingly draining, even to someone as outwardly positive as our Nige.

People from both 'sides' have been latching onto the media bun fight. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. Just an opinion mind you so discard as you see fit

'Reason' is merely a human concept so fill your boots...

But let me guess which reason a lot of people will latch onto and blow out of proportion....

A significant portion of the posts on here in the last 48 hours have been latching onto what the media have been saying so I would venture a fair few "give a f***' how the club is portrayed. Just a hunch.

I hear what people are saying in that chanting Nigel's name is a mark of respect for the man rather than anyone having a pop at the new manager. You get that, I get that, we all get that. However, you can bet your bottom dollar that Sky and the rest of the media will spin it to create a "Fans don't get behind the new manager" sensationalist storyline. It's what the media does best...whipping up storms....

If I can lay my hands on a time machine any chance you can pop back to the 80s and have a chin wag with Arthur Scargill for me? Cheers
