A tad premature to be looking at this game I suppose, but I was prompted by looking at the games that the sides around us have next week, and my conclusion is that I can't see many victories for our fellow "strugglers". So, all in all, we can go into the Utd game with little or no pressure to come away with anything (other than of course the manager no doubt demanding at least a point) Anyway....here's the other games next week and my predictions FWIW.... Aston Villa vs Newcastle : Score draw QPR vs Man City : Away win Stoke vs Wigan : Home win Norwich vs Tottenham : Away win Fulham vs West Ham: Score draw Reading vs Chelsea : Away win All of which would keep us in 15th place even if/when we lose to Utd. Sneak a win and we would be up to 13th with those other results coming in. Yes, I know, getting ahead of myself already....

The No.10 chap we've been linked with from Espanyol maybe? (who's name escapes me momentarily...) Edit: Verdu...that's the fellow

@pn_neil_allen: Council still prepared to loan money to help #Pompey Trust bid. Interesting story by @pn_Rory_McKeown http://t.co/FQplojje So, on one hand you've got Neil Allen saying in a recent Webchat: "Forget the parachute payments, they've gone - already allocated to football creditors" and on the other hand you've got the council saying: "it's ok, our loan is protected by the arrival of the parachute payments" Perhaps someone ought to send an email to the council gently remind them of their own terms and conditions when they originally agreed to the loan...

Makes you wonder why they bother trying to write eye grabbing controversial headlines. Might as well get a buffoon to write them instead.

I would have chosen a less negative word than 'apathy', such as 'pragmatism', but I guess that doesn't sell as many papers...

Who we've been linked with for January thread...
trousers replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Don't know much about Biglia but Verdu was Pochittino's best player at Espanyol (from what I've read). Plays similar role to Ramirez though (agaain, from what I've read) so not sure how that would work out -
I can see us nicking a point at OT

And a fairly broad one at that...

Had an excellent first half IMO. Played much more offensively than under Adkins (running into box rather than looking to lay off a pass).
