  1. I don't think Osborne has too much to worry about if the best the media can come up with is a few cheap jibes about train fares. Yes, I know they're trying to use it as a 'bigger picture' example but I believe the British public are clever enough to work out why people in senior positions are better off travelling away from the "plebs" (chortle) Talking of not making any political point scoring out of this... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/9623075/The-gravy-train-185-MPs-travel-first-class-and-24-claim-for-club-class-flights.html
  2. Apologies Ally - I've obviously got far too much time on my hands!
  3. Damnation.....you found me out....optimist....guilty as charged m'lud
  4. Will the real Ally Biggs please step forwards....
  5. Indeed. The UK goes 0.1% into recession and the doom mongers are gleefully over it like a rash, yet go 1% into growth (albeit partially down to the Olympics) and the same doom mongers talk it down as being insignificant. I've some cake here if anyone would like to have it? You can eat it too.
  6. Concentrate on expanding the 80% portion of the growth figures that wasn't attributed to the Olympics? Just a hunch
  7. Longest in terms of body part length or time?
  8. Switched off yesterday......RIP
  9. Robert Peston ‏@Peston I suspect Treasury would have liked GDP figure to have been less strong. Risk of return to stagnation after big one-offs drop out.
  10. Aye. You wanna see how confused I get when the clocks go back this weekend

  12. And just when you thought Appy couldn't top the current levels of incredularity....along comes another gem... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/appleton-mulling-over-loan-exits-1-4405343
  13. That quote is worth repeating verbatim due to it's high facepalm value... As PES says so eloquently....
  14. Great
  15. @SkyNewsBreak: Debenhams announces pre-tax profit for the last year of £158.3m - up 4.2%
  16. Cheers I'm still left wondering what kind of 'unplanned' meeting a premier league manager gets invited to when, one assumes, his diary is well managed by his PA.... I've been involved in arranging corporate events myself and the contracts on this kinda thing are usually watertight in terms of 'what you ask for is what you get'. If the 'star attraction' doesn't turn up due to a simple diary cock up then, as organiser, I'd be mighty annoyed at best and reaching for my compensation calculator at worst.
  17. ...
  18. Completely missing someone pretending to miss the sarcasm in someone's post. Priceless.
  19. Given my whole life revolves around this forum and I have an evening to plan, have you got a rough idea on the time Mrs Tractor is due back to update us on Adkinsgate? Cheers :-)
  20. I must admit, I have been wondering (in my conspiratorial fashion) whether Cortese and Adkins have been hatching plans for a 'convenient' exit strategy. It would look a whole lot better all round if Nigel was 'poached' by another club rather than 'sacked'. A win win for both Cortese and Adkins IF its been decided that a change is to be made.
  21. I would happily be a 'house husband'. Going out to work is very much over-rated IMHO
