I'm crestfallen at hearing this devastating news

@pn_neil_allen: I see @brianhowe01 is making more Twitter noises over #Pompey buyout. If this one fails would be great to see him join Trust share scheme.

Which saints will have made their national team within the next year?

Didn't the French FA try to convince Morgan to change clubs when we got relegated to League One, or did I imagine that? -
I reckon we'll spend £15m tops. £6m - £7m on the likes of Hooper plus £2m - £3m each on 3 other players to bolster the midfield, defence and goalkeeping departments. We'll then "suck it and see" until the January transfer window. IMHO of course

The same thought crossed my mind. I guess a creditor who wants to replace the administrator has to apply to the same court/judge who appointed Birch. I wonder how much they'll offer as a 'financial incentive' to appoint their administrator of choice this time...? ;-)

I'm not normally someone who criticises potential managerial appointments before they even happen but I have a nagging doubt about Hodgson. He strikes me as one of those managers who is superb at getting the best out of 'non-superstar' players, which is why he has excelled at Fulham and WBA. His international appointments were also for lower profile nations. The one high profile job he's had was Liverpool and his style didn't seem to mix well with a team of egos. I can see Hodgson turning into a Taylor or McClaren - the press will see to this the moment results don't go our way. As I say, it's out of character for me to pre-judge a situation like this but my gut feel is that this would end in tears, so to speak. I obviously hope I'm spectacularly wrong if he is appointed as I have a lot of respect for Hodgson.

Is the poll for who we think will go up or who we want to go up? Cheers

Just listened to the interview a few times on the trot. Hmm....I'd agree with those who say it was an odd thing for him to say....but he started going on one of his "look at what I've achieved" dialogues....he was talking about how he hadn't achieved what he wanted to as a goalkeeper through injuries and other circumstances and how he then threw himself into the physiotherapy job. He kept saying how he wants to be best in whatever he does...and he went back to his days as a Sunday league manager, taking Bangor to the Welsh Championship twice, his achievements at S****horpe etc. I think by that point in the interview he realised he was telling his life story and his emotions took that to the next logical phase in his mind, and that was looking to the future. He let his guard down and projected himself almost too far into the future but I'm sure it was born out of a desire to complete the "life story" he was telling to the interviewer. I did feel there was an element of insecurity in his telling of his "story" and that he knows how ruthless Cortese is. I've sort of been there myself in my job in the dim and distant past. You want to be the best at what you do but there is always this nagging doubt that your boss (the chap who you are slightly fearful of because he is such a strong minded character) wouldn't hesitate in replacing you if he felt it was the right thing to do. I've had bosses like that and you find yourself (a) over egging your achievements in appraisals and (b) pre-empting a worst case scenario in your mind as a sort of security blanket. Anyway, no doubt we're all thinking way too hard about this and it was simply an innocent Nigel ramble that will all be forgotten about when we're top of the premier league next October.... ;-)
