  1. I did address that question. I exercise my opinion on his goods and services by not buying them. Always have done, always will.
  2. Me? Modern technology? Nah. Have you seen those modern internet forum thingys? Full of nonsense, the lot of them....best steer clear I say... ;-) But, back to the serious business of News International....I'm still not getting it....aren't those who don't feed the hand of this person/organisation already expressing their opinion? If everyone stops buying stuff from him/them then he/they will go away. Simple problems always have simple solutions.
  3. Because it makes sense (on a selective basis) for 'seasonal' topics. For example the temporary 'politics' sub-forum worked well during last year's general election. It's simple a common-sense mechanism for ring-fencing peaks of related post types. That is all. Anyway....back to the serious business of the Internet....
  4. Wouldn't it be simpler for people to vote with their feet - i.e. stop buying goods and services from his companies - if they don't like the situation? We don't need state intervention when people have the ultimate sanction available to them. Surely?
  5. This music malarkey is all too complicated for this 42 year old. Please can someone list all music that is "good" and all music that is "bad" just so I know what I should and shouldn't be be listening to. It's a good job none of this is down to personal preference otherwise I'd be completely buggered.
  6. That's not what you meant.
  7. 4 years, 1 month and 22 days to be precise
  8. If there's one thing Dune is very good at it's getting a reaction
  9. Erlend Hanstveit (born 28 January 1981 in Bergen) is a Norwegian footballer. Hailing from Osterøy, he joined Norwegian Premier League team Brann in June 1998 despite interest from big clubs like PSV Eindhoven, Leeds United and Manchester United, with whom he had a trial in December 1997. Originally a midfielder, he gradually became a first team regular at Brann as well as the Norway national under-21 football team, playing 27 international U-21 matches in total. During 2001–02, Erlend Hanstveit converted to defence, settling in the left back position, where he has played since. On 28 January 2004, his 23rd birthday, Hanstveit made his debut for the senior national team. Hanstveit became one of the mainstays in Brann, with over 200 Norwegian Premier League matches and over 270 matches in total. During his 10-year career in Brann, Hanstveit won one Premiership gold, two silver, and two bronze, in addition to the 2004 Norwegian Cup and Norwegian Cup silver in 1999. He was also the club's vice-captain from 2004 to 2008. In early December 2008, he joined Celtic on a week-long trial but failed to win a contract with the Scottish Premier League club.[2] However, he did not accept Brann's contract offer either, due to his wish to play abroad. During the winter break of 2008–09 he joined the Belgian team KAA Gent, coached by Michel Preud'homme.[3]
  10. Koala my arse
  11. There's only ever "real" images of a kit that Umbro design for/with a club? And there was me thinking there would be a series of drawing-board type designs that get produced during the design process....not that those type of crude drawings would ever get leaked of course.... ;-)
  12. So, it's the reverse of last season's kit then.... red top, white sash. For my next trick..... 2+2=5
  13. Yep, agree.
  14. Indeed....Miliband attended a party thrown by Murdoch a few weeks ago because they are best buddies. Nowt to do with the political day job.
  15. Yes. There are many ways to get hold of the PIN. I think we can all agree on that. Even the gormless ones like me.
  16. Yes, of course the PIN numbers were acquired by other means too. But just because it's possible to break into someone's house by smashing a window doesn't mean you don't lock the front door. Sigh. p.s. good use of the word 'gormless' though. Well done.
  17. It's no more complicated than the lock on your front door or car door. "Older" people are just more comfortable with less modern types of security, not security per se. The principles are the same. You can always ask the person who sells it to you to help you around the "complexities" of changing a voicemail PIN. It's common sense rather than rocket science. IMHO of course
  18. I just tried 'hacking' into my own phone only to find I couldn't because I had changed the voicemail PIN when I purchased it a couple of years ago. Of course I'm not condoning illegal and immoral behaviour, but if more people were security conscious then it wouldn't be easy to hack in the first place.
  19. Skacel (once we've signed him in the first place, obviously)
  20. If they had quietly absorbed the £1 parking fee into the price of a season ticket, I would venture that no-one would have batted an eyelid, even though the net payment would be the same as paying for it separately. I guess transparancy has its pros and cons....
  21. Which is greater? The number of "u-turns" by the ConDems, or the number of bandwagons that Miliband clambours upon? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-14073718 "Labour leader Ed Miliband has called for the Press Complaints Commission to be scrapped in the wake of the phone hacking scandal at the News of World. He said the PCC was "a toothless poodle" and a new body with "proper investigative powers" was needed." Anyone keeping count?
  22. Eh? When did that rule come into effect?! I've always assumed the rules said: "You are entitled to post your opinion to which anyone who disagrees with it will distastefully shout you down and call you a mong" These forum rule changes need to be publicised more clearly IMHO.... ;-)
  23. I think what a few are highlighting is that it is possible (in all walks of life, not just on internet football forums) for "positivity" to spill over into "over zealous" or "sycophantic" terriotory, and when it does it can come across as less sincere than more measured positivity. It's a bit like the difference between the English and Americans. By Day 3 of a holiday in Florida a few years back I was ready to lamp the next American that gave me an exagerated "Have a nice day sir" everytime I bought or asked for something. In other words, too much positivity can often come across as artificial. IMHO of course :-)
