I remember the days of British Rail when trains were often unreliable, late, cancelled, dirty, falling apart... sound familiar...? Whilst there's no denying that many private train operators are shite, the railways really weren't any better under British Rail, in my experience. Of course, it doesn't necessarily follow that a nationalised railway wouldn't work this time around, but it's also not necessarily the silver bullet some think it'll be either. Could say the same about some other industries too.

Having a point and not sounding pompous aren't mutually exclusive...

I still can't figure out if he's blissfully ignorant as to how pompous he comes across or if he's just one of those 'performance artists' that we see on here from time-to-time... either way, its splendid entertainment value...

Indeed. Most people probably thought when we got relegated from the PL: "at least it'll give our academy/U21 players more opportunities " ...but, if anything, they've had less opportunities in the Championship....
