That would also happen if we signed him....

My signed Matt Le Tissier photograph just this second fell off the wall after 3 years of being stuck up there. (actual true story) Make of that what you will.

How about, sending a PM to one of the Admins on here - a metaphorical sealed envelope which can then be opened and independently verified after the event?

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sheffield-Wednesday-manager-want-Paul-Ince-Notts-County-replace-Alan-Irvine-article682859.html Paul Ince is the man Sheffield Wednesday want to replace under-pressure Alan Irvine. Fallen giants Wednesday have not won in League One since 11 December and are currently 10th in the table, four points adrift of the play-offs. In contrast, Notts County have enjoyed a stunning run in the same division since Ince took over from Craig Short in October, suffering just one defeat in his last 10 matches. -

I could be missing something but it seems prety clear to me: "Sales remain linked to the match against Carlisle United on Saturday 12th February, but if you have already bought a ticket for the visit of the Cumbrians, then you will not have to purchase any additional seats for that game." -
Indeed.

But, as I suggested earlier, his presence (for the first half only) in the U21 team yesterday may well have been for the very reason that Swindon wanted to check him out before dotting i's and crossing t's.....maybe? I still think it was a slightly odd game for him to be involved in one way or the other. There are several other players who could have done with a 'match fitness' run out, if that is the innocent explanation. So, why just Seabourne? (ok, and Gobern) And, clutching at straws, maybe this could be something to do with the other equally 'slightly odd' decision to put two centre backs on the subs bench vs Tranmere? Perhaps that was in anticipation of Swindon wanting to see either Seabourne or Martin 'in action' at some stage in the game....(I can't recall if either of them came on in the end, so could blow that conspiracy theory out of the water, although given we were chasing the game throughout the 90 minutes, bringing on a centre back was probably not an option at any stage...)

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2276741,00.html "Everybody is excited to play against them, all the players, everyone in Southampton, but the manager may decide to rest one or two players because we have the Tuesday game. "This is not our first target, but it's a game we're going to fight in to win, it's on our pitch, it's a big game on TV everyone is going to watch Southampton against Manchester United, so we're going to see what our level is and what we're going to do against a big team. "We will see what will happen after that, because the Tuesday game against Exeter is more important for us at this time."

Which wouldn't preclude him being sold if, for example, Man Utd offered us £20m for him on Monday. Yes, highly unlikely, but signing a new deal doesn't rule anything out per se.

Fair point. Sorry, just one of my periodical irrational rants.... :-)

I agree with this. I'm guessing the 'dream ticket' notion has also crossed Cameron's mind but (putting possible self-interest motives to one side for now) I assume that Cameron would be worried about the immediate impact such a re-shuffle would have. I've no doubt 'the markets' would have an initial negative knee-jerk reaction to such a move and for an economy so fragile that may be a 'straw on camel's back' risk that Cameron isn't prepared to take. Ironically, it may work in the Government's (and the country's) favour if we do indeed have another quarter of negative growth (i.e. the dreaded double dip) and that would open the door for a reshuffle as "things couldn't get any worse". My gut feel is that he'll stick with Osbourne through thick and thin though. In one respect that can be seen as a sign of strength (reference the Labour Party - Ed Milliband has been weakened IMHO by not having installed Ed Balls as shadow chancellor in the first place even though he is probably a better candidate than Johnson) but in another respect it can be seen as a weakness in not wanting to take tough decisions. I wonder where Labour supporters stand on this. Bit of a ctach-22 for them? i.e. there's more chance of Labour getting back into power if Osbourne stays where he is and (potentially) screwing up over the next year or so, but by wishing that outcome they are looking more at party political interests rather than what is best for the country....

In any other industry, earning £5k a week (or whatever he's on) and letting negative customer feedback affect your performance that easily would result in instant dismissal, not a cuddle and a "there, there...diddums...don't let the baddy waddy customers make you all upset now my precious" Footballers get on my tits sometimes...

They also state that Nigel Clough was at the game yet haven't leapt to the same conclusion that Derby have put in a bid (ok, they mention an undisclosed championship side but not quite the same thing as stating names) Inconsistent journalism or inside info?
