  1. Damn...beat me by 3 mins! Although I did type mine about 15 mins ago but no bloody data signal on the train. Modern technology....pah!
  2. Nothing new in this tweet from BBC's Dan Roan half hour ago bit worth a mention (perhaps): "Met Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese earlier today - impressive 5 year plan - but totally relies on promotion back to Ch'ship this season"

I'll only believe he's heading back to the treatment room when it's exclusively announced on here by leftback
  5. Mark Dennis is now a postman in Fleet?

  7. No. I thought better of raising a thread with a mid-leading title. Would have been a bit of a chortle though....but there again, maybe two humorously misleading thread titles in one day would have been too much of a good thing...
  8. At 12pm today I will be creating a thread entitled: "Cortese gone!" For the record, I'm happy for the mods to append "(to the lavatory)" to the thread title if they see fit. Sigh
  9. Indeed. My observations were on leftback's style not Weston's. People can attract flak (rightly or wrongly) for different reasons. I was simply focusing on one of those reasons in an observational capacity.
  10. I completely understand why: Content = good Style = confrontational Add a dash of human nature to those two ingredients and, voila, you have your answer.
  11. I think people are highlighting the school boy "ner ner ner ner ner" style of the posts rather than the underlying content.
  12. Stop complaining about people complaining FFS :-)
  13. I have it on good authority that the Pope is indeed a catholic. Stay tuned for more exclusive news as it happens.

  16. Cheers Yep, understand where you're coming from with the last comment. I'm actually a programmer by trade but I've also got a fair few artistic genes and prefer the touchy feely 'organic' design approach for building websites. I quite often dip into the HTML if needs be. Best of both worlds. Cheers for the recommendations. Will check those out.
  17. Like the analogy :-) The 'difference of opinion' I was trying to highlight was not whether some people took it at face value compared to some who knew that it was a quote from a TV programme. The difference of opinion I'm highlighting is how one then deals with the 'aftermath'. One opinion is that you approach the person who made the remark and ask them whether they meant to make a racist remark and when they've explained let it go. The other opinion is that you assume they meant it as a self authored racist remark and penalise it without prior consultation. I run a forum and tend to take the more pragmatic 'benefit of the doubt' version of the above two approaches. As I say, two different opinions as to how to moderate a message board. Both as valid as each other. Just depends what sort of relationship you want to forge with your regular users.
  18. I currently use 'Web Creator 5' by Lavasoft but it's a bit clunky and has its fair share of bugs. Anyone else use a WYSIWYG editor they can recommend. Budget under £100 Cheers
  19. That's a matter of opinion rather than fact... Anyway, happy modding and get well soon. I too have the man flu :-)
  20. Not true. It parodies racism (amongst other things) in the same way that Johnny Speight was holding up a mirror to racism in the 60s. Some people didn't get that either to be fair. For what it's worth, I think Hypo has been hard done by here and there seems room for more pragmatism here as far as I can tell.
  21. In other words, the infraction for "racism" applies equally to unintentional racism as it does intentional racism. It's a bit subjective I know but one would have thought that the former is worthy of less 'points' than the latter. Anyway, it's only a football forum :-)
