Can't quite believe I'm saying this but when I saw Long's name on your list there it occured to me that I actually miss not having him on the bench to come on and be a nuisance in the last 20 minutes of a game... Pretty much sums up where we've got to with this squad...
-
The same bloke that picked him last week when he had a decent game...?
-
I know I'm in danger of entering Glen Hoddle territory here, but I wonder if the club has ever considered getting a therapist in to determine whether the players have a genuine psychological problem or if they are simply indolent twats?
-
I did float that potential outcome last week. I just thought/hoped the players would/could maintain the "give a shit" mode for the rest of the season. It would appear not. Do they genuinely not give a shit when they play like yesterday or do they have a mental condition that's treatable?
-
Any chance you could post this "look how clever I am" observation after every poor result? Thanks (Over to you for the 'suppressed laugh' gif...)

What I don't get is this... Last week, our defenders (and the whole team) DID throw their bodies in front of everything and did their bit for team... But this week? Nah, can't be arsed.... Genuine question... Are there any psychologists on the forum who can explain to me how human being 'x' can flip from putting their all in one week to putting in a half-arsed performance the next...? What on Earth is going through their deficient minds? Forget about extra training, do our players need to see a shrink first and foremost to determine why we seem to be the only team in the league where the majority of the players seemingly have a mental health issue? As I say, genuine question.

Hi Patrick, Just to be clear, are you interested in the rivalry between Saints and the 12 years old Micky Mouse football club that currently plays at Fratton Park or the tax dodging / charity swindling / trophy cheating football club that used to play there before that? It's just that we don't have much to do with the current incarnation. TIA Trousers, Lord

Our terrace chant writers dodged a bullet there...

Bree pulls one back

Saints historian @Fitzhugh Fella might be interested?

Selles: "Che Adams still out. Oršić out with concussion. Salisu back in training but not sure yet if he'll feature." No mention of Stu Armstrong so assume he's fit

Thanks for posting that. He certainly looks head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. Explosive pace and excellent composure in front of goal. p.s. why are most of our youth games seemingly filmed using a potato?
-
Would a "clueless" person admit they made a mistake and try to make amends or stick with their bad decision regardless...?

Big loss if Stu is definitely out. He makes us tick in the 4-2-2-2 formation p.s. anyone know what is wrong with McCarthy's ankle? I don't remember it being announced as a major injury at the time but given how long he's been out for now it must have been pretty serious.

Yep, definitely "damned if they do, damned if they don't" territory
-
Yep, that's another possible outcome 👍

Wasn't it more a matter of timing rather than Rasmus "not wanting him" per se? Rasmus may well have brought Selles in with a view to him taking over the reigns in a year or two and thus didn't see him as being ready when the season started to unravel with Ralph and then Jones. Whilst it's only one game admittedly, the Chelsea performance may simply have convinced Rasmus that Selles is ready earlier than he thought he was, thus all we're seeing here is Rasmus bringing the longer term succession plan forward a tad. Dunno. I guess it's easier to take a more cynical view than that but we are where we are.
