Isn't / wasn't that the point though? I.e. That we've acquired a "dubiously skillful" player via some sort of subtefuge? Surely, the worse the player the more scandelous it potentially is? I certainly "care" that the money I pay to the club is, in part, going to an employee who seemingly isn't up to the job - a circumstance that was seemingly known at the time of purchase?
