For the record your honour, my position is not one of denial. I can understand the reason for your false assumption though ;-) My position is thus: I accept that mankind has probably contributed in part to the temperature of your planet. However, my opinion, as a visitor to your planet, is that it doesn't matter in the general scheme of things. In other words, humans will either adapt to the change in temperature or they won't and another more adaptable species will come along and take your place. "Survival of the fittest" I believe one of your kind once called it. That's what I mean by "this is pretty much how the planet has evolved over the last 12 million years or so" So, to recap, there are three opinions up for discussion here: (a) it's happening and it matters (b) it's not happening © it's happening but it doesn't matter in the general scheme of things The sooner you humans accept you are part of nature and not external to nature the better IMHO.

Sorry. I forgot having an alternative view was frowned upon on here. I've had a word with myself and am now happy to report that I will accept that whatever you say and the sources you quote are correct and unchallengeable. I can't say I won't miss debating different opinions but it's much nicer for everyone to agree on everything so it's for the greater good. ;-)

In other words.... Saying to a prospective university student: "you'll be in debt by £30,000 if you go to university" sounds worse than: "you'll be in debt by £780,000 rather than £750,000 if you go to university". One word: perspective

Sigh....how many more times do I have to explain this? Here goes explanation no.93.... When I started my career in IT at the age of 17 I signed myself up for over 40 years worth of "debt" (to use your word to describe "contributions to the exchequer via PAYE". By the time of my retirement I will have paid somewhere upwards of £750,000 in "debt". Are people seriously saying that I should have looked at this "debt" looming ahead of me and decided that going to work wasn't worth saddling myself with that much future payment to the state? Student fees are a relatively small addtion to someone's PAYE contributions. It is not a debt in the usual sense of the word. i.e. Nobody has been given a wad of cash by a creditor. Let's get some logic into this debate rather than scaremongering sensationalism. No? Ok...back to the irrational bun fight then...

Me? Contradict myself? Nah, never....that would make me a hypocrite.... ;-) So, are we in agreement then that any money that you are compelled to pay the chancellor of the exchequer in the future can be labelled a "debt"? We wouldn't want to be inconsistent, would we? I'm currently £420,000 in "debt"...
