  2. You'd be better off joining a union. Much more regular and predictable days off that way...
  3. Two words: Lembit Opik
  4. "Hoax"?
  5. http://www.conservatives.com/News/News_stories/2010/11/Britain_out_of_the_danger_zone.aspx
  6. That was buctootim
  7. Current members only, Shirley?
  8. Are people really still talking about the variable temperature of a small spec of dust (aka planet Earth) in a vast universe? The self importance you humans attribute to yourselves is rather amusing.
  9. Just heard that Unite will be avoiding Christmas / New Year if the strike ballot goes in favour of a strike. Common sense prevails!
  10. Is that the same BBC that predicted I would get snow at the weekend just gone....?
  11. Some clever sod predicted the game would be snowed off a week ago.... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?26363-Hartlepool-4th-December&p=899001#post899001
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11866508 If the snow doesn't get you first......not a good time to be planning a Christmas break me thinks.....
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11860585 "The independent Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) says the economy will grow by 1.8% this year, higher than the previous forecast of 1.2%." "The OBR also revised its forecast for the number of public sector job losses it expects over the next four years, down from 490,000 to 330,000." Doesn't that put the number of public sector job losses below the 'natural attrition' threshold?
  14. I think you have the bite you were after Dune.... ;-)
  15. You said it... ;-)
  16. Whose number?
  17. So, a 'recent' player (for example) couldn't borrow someone else's ID...?
  18. They were in the prem and bent all sorts of rules. A club in the FL would be allowed to go under IMO. Maybe someone like Wigan or Fulham if they go down. Theyve only been kept afloat by a wealthy owner in the prem, if that owner did a Simon Jordan, theyd be doomed. They were still bending the rules when they came down to the Football League (and some would say still are)
  19. Alas (in one respect), no 'medium to large' football club will ever 'go under' due to owing the taxman. If they couldn't nail the most blatant case (Pompey) they won't be able to nail anyone.
  20. Cardiff I reckon
  21. Yep, Alpine is being as reactionary and irrational as those saying the coalition is doomed for failure after the first few months of a 5 year parliament ;-) (yes, I know Alps was being Tongue-in-cheek...probably...as am I....probably...) ;-)
  22. How many fans (on both sides) predicted a 0 - 0 result?
  23. The capital city of the UK is "not important"? Has one of those chip-on-shoulder Scots hacked into your computer or something...?
  24. Not a disaster. 3 teams around us also drew and one lost. And still same number of points off top spot.
  25. 0 - 0 ? Who in their right mind would have predicted that?
