  1. Just a thought....perhaps they should be doing a Saints colander rather than a calendar. It's got about the same number of holes....
  2. I would dust off MLT's registration forms and hope for another 2 penalties each game from here on in.
  3. a.k.a. "The History of Southampton Football Club 2003 - 2008"
  4. p.s. one could also argue that half of the QPR game doesn't count as a 'game lost' stat for Schneiderlin as he came off injured before QPR ran riot (if memory serves me correctly), which would make the win/lose ratio greater in his favour.... More straws please vicar!
  5. I've nothing scientific to base this view on but I've got a hunch we'll improve when Schneiderlin and Gasmi play together (I know, I know....we can't but improve at the moment but just a hunch that these two will click for us...)
  6. Cheers for that. Hmmmm, not a huge differential I suppose, although the 'headline' observation there is that we've lost 44% with him in the team but lost 60% without him. Verging on the cusp of significance....perhaps
  7. Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere but, without having had chance to look up the stats, my gut feel is that our results when Schneiderlin has played are far better than when he hasn't. Any stattos confirm this? cheers
  8. "who thinks it's gonna be another last day relegation fight?" Nah....Don't be daft....we'll be down long before then....
  9. "The NEW 2009 Saints Calendar is in store now! It is packed with loads of great photos of your favourite Saints players and also includes a fantasticfree team poster." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10765 I hope the club got their parents' permission before publishing pictures of kids..... Interesting editorial decision to choose a backdrop of a half full stadium....
  10. I think someone said somewhere between 17,000 and 18,000
  11. Do we still back Jan Portveliet? I say we start spelling his name wrong in thread titles as a protest, and then work up from there.
  12. Andrew came to his senses (it would seem)
  13. Good question....no doubt his World Cup 'exertions' meant he got back too late and was deemed 'match unfit' Get a grip SFC.
  14. I forgive you! I would see Hoddle back here like a shot but he seems happy where he is. Good luck with your crusade though....nothing ventured and all that....!
  15. I did wonder why you were called "70's Mike"....
  16. Erm....I was actually in favour of Hoddle returning.....but you carry on assuming what suits you sir. I'm simply highlighting what Glenn Hoddle himself thinks of your 'campaign'. That's all. (Now, where did I put that picture of a high horse....)
  17. These might come in handy:
  18. All season ticketholders + away fans (total allocation?) + pay-as-you-go Saints fans one assumes?
  19. Are you my wife?
  20. It's OK....we've just signed a new defender.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10756
  21. Which is correct: 'a hotel' or 'an hotel', 'a historian' or 'an historian'? And why is it 'a European' not 'an European'? The form an for the indefinite article is used before a spoken vowel sound, regardless of how the written word is spelt. If you say 'an otel' when speaking (which is now often regarded as distinctly old-fashioned), then it may be appropriate for you to write 'an hotel'; but most people say 'hotel' with a sounded 'h', and should write 'a hotel'. By contrast, words such as 'honour', 'heir' or 'hour' in which the 'h' sound is dropped are written with 'an'. Americans who drop the 'h' in 'herb' may also prefer to write 'an herb', but in standard British pronunciation the 'h' is sounded, and 'a herb' is therefore correct in writing. Because 'European' is said with an initial 'y' sound, which counts as a consonantal sound in English speech, it is said (and written) with 'a' not 'an'. An abbreviation such as M.P., which is pronounced em pea, begins with a spoken vowel, and so it is 'an M.P.'

It's a bit like forking out for a football season ticket without knowing what quality of football one will see......erm, on second thoughts....

The OS also says this about Skacel.... "He made 33 league starts and showed his versatility by slotting in strongly at left-back towards the end of his first campaign in English football and with a full pre-season behind him, he is set to be a key man in the coming year."
  24. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10752 "My boys can beat everyone but we can also lose because it depends on what day we have. Hopefully in the near future will win games even when we have a bad day we because you have to do that when you are serious. Before you win bad games you also have to win the good games and we have the quality but the experience is now what we have to add to our game." Translation anyone?
