The rules need changing IMO if that's the case. Too subjective otherwise. Should be black and white: if you purposely push the ref then you're off. Keep it simple.

Yeah, I think we're all agreed the atmosphere was fantastic for most of the match, just a bit of a lull in the first half, which is no big deal.

The atmosphere definitely sounded 'flat' on the TV coverage for about 25 mins in the first half. My son was in the stadium and I messaged him to ask him about it at half time. His reply was: "First 10 mins was buzzing, and then it died down until the goal", which pretty much matches how it came across on the BBC coverage. Anyway, the atmosphere definitely ended up sounding as good as the best I've heard on TV coverage of Saints games before, so all's well that ends well 👍🏻🙂

Yep, this is the difference in vibe between Martin and Eckert to me. Despite Martin having a decent season in the Championship there was always a concern that his somewhat dogmatic tactics wouldn't translate to the Premier League. Whereas, with Tonda, you get a feeling that he would actually excel in a higher league....

Excuse the tangential thought but is there a scenario where we wouldn't be able to wear the yellow commemorative kit for the semi final, in terms of a colour clash? Maybe Vs Leeds (pale yellow Vs white) or Chelsea (both blue shorts)? Or maybe there's some jobsworth FA rule for Wembley semis / finals that says you have to wear your home kit if you're drawn as the designated home team...? Whilst not the end of the world, would be a bit of a shame if we couldn't wear the yellow kit through to the end of our cup run.
