  1. You're mistaking me for someone who hasn't got their tongue in their cheek...
  2. Your faith in the quality of our coaching staff is admirable...
  3. Is it me or are we as a club more 'protective' of our younger talent than other clubs these days? Might be false memory syndrome but I'm sure we used to quite regularly have a 'youngster' on the bench and give our academy players more 1st team experience in general. I guess it happens less now because we've had a bloated squad for several seasons but it annoys me that a prolific 18 year old is seemingly not even considered for 1st team exposure, just in case they have a bad experience and it sets them back, or such like. There are plenty of players across the footballing world that debut in top leagues at the age of 16, 17, 18. Given our dearth of centre forward options, I say we should chuck this 18 year old lad into the deep end and see what he's got. It's not as if he's a child.
  4. 3/10
  5. There was plenty of doubt and scepticism expressed about him on the Damian Downs thread before he signed...
  6. Whatever happened to the time whereby the club declared that the U21s/u23s were rebranded as "the B team" with the expectation that anyone in that squad could step up to the first team squad if circumstances dictated it a requirement...? If there was ever a time that a centre forward needed to transition from the 'B team' to the first team it's now...
  7. Ergo, he's not as good as Downs...,?
  8. Thoughts at this time very much with @Fabrice29, @notnowcato, @Lighthouse, @Farmer Saint and @gio1saints Always here to talk if you ever need a shoulder ♥️
  9. Matsuki is another case in point. Whenever he's played for us (which isn't much, granted) his first thought is to gain ground in the opponents half and shoot on instinct from outside the box. Why do we put these players with a natural positive attitude back in their box rather than embrace them on the field? He scores a screamer in the cup then never to be seen again. Bizarre.
  10. I've mentioned this before, and it could be a false memory, but when he first arrived at the club I'm sure we played him in a very advanced position. So, yes, I can see him being able to fill a gap there, especially if Stewart is now going to be sidelined for a period of time again.

    Will Still

Still has just about kept up with Russell Martin's run-rate up to now, but he'll now need to go up a gear or two if that trend is to continue over the coming months. Obviously too early to conclude that Still can't continue to match Martin at this level, but I have my doubts.
  12. Only two points less than the "outstanding" Russell Martin achieved in this league at the same stage of the season. I have my doubts about Still but obviously too early to write him off as things stand.
  13. Downes and Azaz coming on
  14. I don't get why wingers of Fellow's calibre don't look up before crossing rather just pumping it in hoping that someone might be where he crosses it to...
  15. Fair enough. As I say, I don't know enough about his current injury situation to offer any informed counter-argument 👍🏻
  16. Fellows was our best player Vs Sheffield Utd and Still subbed him off... Worked that time...
  17. I'm not up to speed with his injury record but, according to the link you posted, he had a "muscle injury" from January to March last season and no reports of any injury since... So, what's his current injury situation...?
  18. Bamford on a free...?
  19. As far as I'm aware, VAR wouldn't intervene for a misjudged throw-in decision, so moot point...
  20. Charlie you stupid twat
  21. Inept officials 1 Saints 1
  22. That's bonkers.... It's not even close...!
