F*** me... Why hasn't Rusk made several subs yet, given the players currently on the park have no intention whatsoever of getting out of neutral gear...?
If I was the post-match interviewer my first question to Rusk would be: "I assume the players won't be getting paid for today, given they couldn't be arsed to turn up?"
Whilst Everton will obviously be delighted with a win, I wonder if they'd have preferred a more entertaining / competitive encounter for the last ever game at Goodison...?
That's the biggest yellow flag to me too. He could be absolutely fine under such pressure of course, but it's a risk nonetheless. (And, yes, all manager appointments come with an element of risk, before the whataboutery brigade launch into one... )
I guess option (1) can be broken down into two parts:
1a) manager on the way up who hasn't yet hit his peak
1b) manager on the way up who has reached his peak
Of course, you never know if you're going to get a 1a or 1b until it's too late...
