  1. This. 6 points from Ralph's first 4 games at the helm is encouraging (not counting the Cardiff game as he only had 2 training sessions before that which isn't enough to significantly influence the outcome) Hojbjerg getting himself sent off is going to adversely affect us though as he's the player Ralph was building his team around.
  2. You appear to be mistaking Saintsweb for a tolerant and pragmatic forum where people don't get their knickers in a twist over someone doing something they enjoy. Lady Trousers doesn't get why anyone gets pleasure out of watching 22 overpaid egotistical men trying to kick a ball between two sticks for 90 minutes - she reckons it's "pointless"... Each to their own I guess...
  3. Indeed. I think that's the pragmatic way to look at yesterday's result (yes, I'm fully aware that saintsweb doesn't do pragmatism but bear with me...). Yes, most of us were probably expecting more from last night (and with a decent ref we may well have snuck a point), but 6 points from Ralph's first* 4 games at the helm is an improvement on where we were. (*don't think it's 'fair' to include the Cardiff game as he only had 2 training sessions beforehand which wasn't enough to exert a significant influence on the outcome IMO)

  5. Well, this tribute thread is going well...
  6. Indeed. Surely goading the disabled fans in the same way he goaded the non-disabled fans is a display of equality rather than discrimination...?
  7. Without wishing to put a dampener on things, I'm already starting to mourn the day we'll ultimately lose him to a bigger club. If he keeps this up, we'll be fortunate to hold onto him for more than 18 months. Anyway, rewinding back to the present, I'm sure going to make the most of the time he's here. Happy days are here again (for the time being)
  8. Nice
  9. This. Great management
  10. Get in!!!!!!
  11. Uh oh....
  12. Happy days
  13. Arsenal 3 Burnley 1
  14. Good. They haven't got time for tailoring as well as training for games.
  15. His actual words: “In the moment I am happy that I find the first 11 that showed me against Arsenal that it is possible that it fits good together. I am not in the situation that I change everything because one or the other player is a little bit tired. That is not in my mind at the moment. I am glad that I find now a first 11 and to come in this team is not so easy at the moment because they put something in my account and showed me they are able to take a win." https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/17311959.southampton-manager-ralph-hasenhuttl-on-the-christmas-schedule
  16. Just watched the 2nd part of Ralph's pre match press conference. Don't think we'll be seeing many, if any, changes to the starting 11 vs Huddersfield. To paraphrase Ralph: "I have now found my first 11. Given how well they performed in the Arsenal game there is no reason to make changes" (or words to that effect) https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-12-20/press-conference-part-two-ralph-hasenhuttl-huddersfield-southampton-premier-league-1819
  17. Seems bizarre that these things can't be tracked and located once they're in the air
  18. So, what do we reckon then? The Russians? Greenpeace? Theresa May? Or someone else....? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-england-sussex-46564814
  19. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/17309062.southampton-midfielder-mario-lemina-is-wanted-by-psg Cash in on Lemina for £30m?
  20. When the players came over to the Northam after the game, Austin tapped his stomach a couple of times as if to acknoweldge this.
  21. Try "My old man's a dustman"...?
  22. Could be time for a cheeky insurance bet....
  23. That hypothesis assumes that Pellegrino would have maintained the same point scoring rate. Just because Pellegrino achieved 8 points in the preceding 8 games doesn't guarantee that he'd have picked up another 8 points in the remaining 8 games. So, the most accurate assessment is that we'll never actually know whether Hughes got more points than Pellegrino would have done. Different people will have different hunches though, which is fine.
