We could have an 'interesting' season defining sequence of games at the end of February.... Sat/Sun 18th/19th February - FA Cup 5th Round Thursday 23rd February - Europa League First Knock Out Round, Second Leg Sunday 26th February - League Cup Final Not that I'm counting chickens of course...

Having highlighted that possible outcome, you know what's going to happen now, don't you....? #temptingfate

I think that'll be pretty close actually.

Indeed. I'm with Fonte on this one.... i.e. Disappointed that we didn't hold out for the win. That's where we are now. ( https://southamptonfc.com/news/2016-10-23/jose-fonte-post-manchester-city-southampton ) Great team performance again though. Boufal showing glimpses of giving us an added dimension. Marching on....

Man City are currently 2-1 to win. Not sure whether to put on an 'insurance' bet now or hope we hold out for another 10 minutes or so to get better odds...

I'm wondering if playing one of the premier league 'giants' like Man City following a game vs Inter at the San Siro isn't such a bad thing....? Psychologically, it would have been more difficult for Puel to 'rally the troops' for a game against Hull City (for example) given the high status of the preceding game but playing the likes of City at the Etihad keeps the players' self-motivation levels naturally high. Yes, I know they're professional footballers who shouldn't need motivating for a game regardless of how high or low profile it is, but I just think that the fact that we go straight into another high profile game could actually work to our advantage. Now cue a 6-0 drubbing of course....!

Stop slagging off our fans who slag off our other fans...

Agree with that as the probable starting line up, although part of me would contemplate starting JRod again as the main thing he is missing right now is lack of game time. I think he would benefit from playing consecutive games. That said, Austin and Redmond are in good form in the Premier League so difficult to justify dropping either.

Just a quick mention for how well this trip went. Having never heard of 'Sport Options' before I was a bit dubious as to their credentials but I have to say how professionally and efficiently the whole trip was run. From the check in at Bournemouth Airport at 5:30 am, to the airport transfers, to the return journey arriving back bang on time at half past midnight, the whole day ran like clockwork. The way we wafted effortlessly and swiftly through Bergamo airport on the way home it almost felt like we were travelling on our own private jet service. (with the added bonus of arriving back at the same time as the players!) Ok, so the price is never going to be competitive with DIY trips (this was £269 per person if I remember correctly) but for such a hassle free door-to-door service it was worth the extra pennies IMO. I'm not normally one to write reviews like this but I felt the quality of the trip was worthy of being highlighted in case anyone else has any similar doubts about doing something similar in the future.

Perhaps Charlie meant "I got the feeling that we would never score from the many chances we created"...?

My Spurs supporting friend is usually first to mock any Saints defeat. Got the following text from him last night though: "1-0 to the Italians, who would have seen that coming. Great effort Saints though". Getting praise from him is praise indeed. It felt great this morning waking up to the realisation that I witnessed Saints outplay Inter Milan at the San Siro and only lost to Inter's one and only shot on target. Ok, so Inter aren't the force they once were. The amount of stuffs I'm giving about that right now are negligible. We march on!

I'll be raising a glass of Remy Martin (chilled of course) with HelpMeRhonda at the nearest Monkey Chicken Petting Zoo.
