My resignation does give rise to a few vacancies on here though: - someone to hilariously post a 'groundhog day' picture whenever people bang on about the same thing over and over again - someone to post a photo of either: several bicycles welded together in a circle or a photo of the cast of the comedy gold sitcom 'Ever Decreasing Circles' whenever an argument in a thread goes down the "I'm right. No, I'm right, you're wrong. No, you're wrong, I'm right. Ner ner ner ner ner ner" path. - someone to post "chomp chomp chomp" every time Glasgow gets a bite on one of his pieces of bait - someone to rate Glasgow's bait out of 10 - someone to post a picture of Mutley receiving a medal every time Bazza, Turkish, CB Fry, Glasgow etc play the " I was right all along - told you so" card - someone to post c.74 times per day on the Pompey Takeover Saga thread to continually remind the cheats that they're quick to airbrush their recent negative past from the history books whilst still wallowing in the "glory" of reaching cup finals with players they couldn't afford during the same era. The primary motive of a troll is to post something based on how much reaction they think they'll get. The actual 'opinion' is secondary. A non-troll will post an opinion without thinking upfront about what level of reaction it'll get. Subtle difference.
-
Dodgy analogy alert... If someone came into your local pub and started saying things to deliberately wind you up rather than engaging in constructive conversation about different opinions (and continued to do this for days on end) would you (a) ignore them or (b) take action? If (a) let me know where your local pub is - I've got a little experiment to carry out
-
Trolls are "only people with different opinions". Come on chaps, I thought we all knew this mantra by now?

The messageboard administrator(s) and moderator(s) have previously stated that their approach is to let WUMs/trolls be 'self moderated' by other forum members via use of the ignore facility, or by simply not rising to the bait. If the people that run and monitor the message board choose not to proactively curtail obvious WUMs/trolls then that is obviously their prerogative. But don't forget the WUM/Troll mantra: "We're only expressing an alternative opinion guv" IMO of course

He 'plants' positive posts every now and then so he can refer back to them when confronted with the question you posed. Its text book stuff

My interpretation of the financial "difficulty" comment is that they were highlighting the funding gap created by our lack of commercial activity. Don't the new Financial Fair Play rules include commercial income in the equation that ultimately dictates how much a club can spend on players? So, perhaps the "difficulty" is that they actually want to spend MORE on players than the rules will actually allow them to rather than it being a problem with the overall "debt" situation, especially given that its not really a large debt in the general scheme of things. This would explain why cortese voted against the new FFP rules because he knew that his apparent lack of focus on the commercial side was about to bite him on the bum if the FFP rules came into play? So its more about ratios rather than absolute amounts? Dunno.... Just thinking out loud.

He and his ilk come on here to goad people into a reaction. He succeeds every time. Job done. -
You'd be wise not to ask that question on here. It usually gives rise to a supercilious retort along the lines of: "you lot believe newspapers when the news is good but don't when the news is bad"

@bigadamsport: So Spurs have approached Ajax about availability of coach Frank De Boer .....and that's confirmed by Dutch club, not fiction #saintsfc

The pompey lottery is a hospital that lost out on investment because someone thought it was more important to keep a rancid football club alive rather than pay back more than 4p in the pound to the public purse.

I guess what fans are looking for is a statement from Pochettino that he will not be leaving before the end of his contract. He's fallen short of saying that. He's said on many occasions that he has another year left on his contract but that doesn't mean anything if he has doubts about honouring it in full. I'm an optimist so I'm not reading too much into the lack of 100% firm commitment to the final year of his contract, but others of course will
