More petty insults... If you spend £100m on a stadium, you still own the stadium. It still has value and in fact adds value to the club when they sell it on.
-
The Liebherr's don't do debt! They'd more likely pay for the development and then add it to the value of the asset.
-
It isn't perfect if they wanted to make it bigger. The area would struggle to cope with the extra demands put on it.

From League One to Champions League group stages in just 4 years! A tad unrealistic! Season 4

It isn't the location that makes the Ricoh soulless. It is the lack of Coventry fans in it.

The FA Youth Cup is a very prestigious thing to win, more so than the league. When selling the academy to prospective parents/kids that Saints' academy is the one to pick for their development, an FA Cup youth win is a good thing to point out. Thus makes sense to use Chamberlain in just the academy cup games to give Saints the best possible chance of winning it. In any case he only played half this game and wasn't exactly stretched by Thurrock!

Part of the problem is the congestion and disruption it causes on matchdays to the road network. Now imagine if an extra 20k people were going.

Dovey - Didn't have much to do, but did have a couple of very dodgy mix ups with his centre backs when going for balls outside the box Young - Was impressed with him at right back, assured and comfortable on the ball and did the simple things well. O'Sullivan - A few slip ups at left back, a number of misplaced passes and poor positioning at times. Foot - Dominant in the air but passing at times was poor. Martin - Same as his centre back partner, dominent in the air, let himself down on the floor at times. Holder-Spooner - Always a threat with pace down the right wing Robinson - A steady game from the captain in central midfield, nothing spectacular apart from his free kick goal and was subbed in second half. Ward-Prowse - I think is a very good prospect as a central midfielder, good on the ball and can spot and execute defense splitting passes Curtis - Drifted in and out of the game on the left wing, alot of the play especially in the first half was going down Saint's right and Curtis was isolated Hoskins - Good on the ball, but had numerous chances to score particulary in the second half but lacked composure to score when he should have. Chamberlain - As we all now know he is a big threat at League One level, let alone playing the youth team of a non league side, had his moments where he left Thurrock players for dead with pace and skill. However tonight he lacked some of the end product we have seen in the first team. Subs: Moore - Came on for Robinson in central midfield, gave a good performance comfortable on the ball and did simple things well Chambers - Came on for Holder-Spooner, not as pacy or direct as the man he replaced, but took his goal very well from distance and helped stretch the game as it went on. Sinclair - Came on for Chamberlain early in the second half. This lad has real potential, still very young but you can see that he may well have what it takes to play at a high level. Extremely quick, good football brain and a good touch. Subs unused: Hamon and Shaw

Highlights of the game are now on Saints Player.

It was Saints development squad vs Bournemouth reserves, not Saints vs Portsmouth reserves.

Email the Football League then and see what they say.

What ever happens, he won't be at training for a large part of this week.
-
He was injured for most of the summer and early season with a hip injury.
-
I don't think Saints will be dropping Lambert for Doble anytime soon.
-
He'll only get on the bench if it is felt he is a better option than Lambert, Barnard, Do Prado or Connolly. Or if one or more of them are injured/suspended. At the moment they are all playing well and are fit.

There is a simple way to avoid the possibility of a custodial sentence... don't act like a prat at football matches.

The "Pompey way" was to not invest in infrastructure and rack up huge debts unsustainable for a club of their size. The Liebherr's since the late 1940's when Markus' father Hans Liebherr started his construction business, don't accrue debt. It is the family's business philosophy.

As I said earlier in response to this... They are easy to find if you are an attractive investment opportunity. Lots of rich people are still looking for clubs. But most clubs either don't have the fanbase size required or infrastructure to make it attractive and/or are burdened by debt. Saints already have good infrastructure in place, have a large fanbase and are debt free. If they were sold tomorrow they would be extremely attractive for another billionaire.

I think it is basically just a criminal record check at the moment. You would think however the first question should be... 1) Do the prospective owners exist? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-were-brought-to-the-brink-of-extinction-by-a-mystery-Arab-owner-who-did-not-exist-article624799.html Really does make a mockery of the whole thing and quite pointless having them if they don't stop this happening. Neil Warnock's comments at the end of the article are also interesting.
-
They can't go back and change the rules and then apply them retrospectively for something Charlton did in the summer. I think a lot of Charlton's debt were soft debt in the form of director loans.

Read the later comments by Dan Roan on his twitter and you will see that is simply not the case. Someone asked him - Does that mean that Liebherr family will back out if promotion not achieved this season? Dan replied - No - but better players will leave if promotion missed again Which was obvious anyway, if Saints don't get promoted this season players like Lambert, Lallana, Schneiderlin and Fonte will leave. As Dan says, the funding will continue, however the team would need to be rebuilt. However if those four were sold, that would raise a lot of money and rebuilding shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully though it won't come to that and promotion happen this season. *fingers crossed* In any case, whenever the Liebherr's do sell up, it won't be to no-one. The club is now an even more attractive investment than it was when Markus brought it. Someone new would pick up the reigns, and there would be a queue of people willing to do so considering the clubs assets of the stadium, training ground, Jackson's farm, the academy, good squad, healthy sized fanbase and no debt what so ever.
