Saints 1-0 Leeds Utd - Post Match Reaction
Matthew Le God replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Some quite bizarre logic you are using there. The ref was poor but there is no direct correlation between the dominance of a team and the number of fouls. -
Plymouth haven't pulled out. But with the way things are going for them they may do. I think it would then be offered to Leicester or Hull as bids that missed out.
-
They'd make a lot more money by selling the St Mary's site for millions.
-
Likely to be on BBC iPlayer and Saints Player when everyone gets back from the game I would think.
-
Why have you posted this? It is an interview from August 2009!

For those questioning it, it is clear Liebherr and Cortesse have ambitions of a top half Premiership side if not better... Spurs, Villa and Everton could and will relatively soon all, have larger stadiums. Then you have Newcastle with 52k likely back in the Premiership soon and Sunderland with a 49k ground both possibly expanded soon for the World Cup. Hillsborough is being expanded over 40k. Forest plan a 50k stadium. Plymouth, Bristol City and MK Dons all over 45k. Elland Road will be expanded for the World Cup also. Plus there are a few others. To keep up Saints would need similar or better. Hence why they have unveiled plans for a training ground in the New Forest and it seems a possibility of a stadium relocation away from the restrictive riverside site of St Mary's.

In the gap between West End, Hedge End and Horton Heath. Very close to the motorway, railway and airport.

It may take 4 years or more to come to fruition. In 4 years Saints could be in the Prem. If Saints wait until they are in the Prem before thinking of this then it delays it and Saints play at a 32k ground in the Prem which was too small last time. If Liebherr brought Saints for the reported £13m and sells the land at St Mary's for £5m to £10m and builds a large 50k stadium and surrounding development then it is a good business plan.

Saints move to a new stadium. Away fans have St Mary's and a big screen. Sorted!
-
Just going back to the opening post, I have a couple of questions. 1) What program was this on? 2) Did anyone else see it?
-
Almost all the big earners from the 2007/08 cup winning side have left. All those still at the club will have much smaller bonuses.
-
I'm not just talking about the Isle of Wight. Saints can now possibly move coaching/scouting networks eastward into traditional Pompey recruiting areas.
-
- Pompey won't be paying 100% of the wages for loan players. - The loan players helped Pompey get to a Wembley semi final and bring in extra income that exceeds their wages. - In the vain hope they don't get a points deduction the six loan players "could" play a significant part in them staying up and bringing in money.
-
They haven't "softened their stance". HMRC were showed the evidence they asked for. Simple.
-
Surely it isn't eight weeks? The administration was declared valid, so it is eight weeks from when it began two weeks ago.
-
Pompey have cut back significantly on their youth schemes in the region. For example on the Isle of Wight... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Longserving-coach-39bitter39-at-Pompey.6146271.jp I'm sure the club already has this under control and is fully aware. Saints should not only on the Isle of Wight but elsewhere in the region be looking to expand the youth network left behind by Pompey. Perhaps even hiring the coaches and youth scouts that were sacked by Pompey with their contacts and local knowledge.
-
All Premier League refs also have to do the occasional Football League game. Hence why he did Bristol vs Swindon and now Saints vs Leeds. Likely the Football League wanted a "bigger name" ref for the Bristol vs Swindon "derby" and a 30k sell out Saints vs Leeds game.

Simple things, please my mind... Deserves a thread of its own (or even incorporating into the SWF muppet show banner)

Perched on the top of your head? You need what my 57 year dad has and what every middle aged man requires - glasses on a string to hang round your neck!
-
Being middle aged doesn't stop you putting on your reading glasses, reading the seat number on your season ticket and looking for the corresponding seat.
-
Do you mean the family company Liebherr that Markus is no longer involved with or Markus' own companies in the MALI group? I think it is highly unlikely either would as what would be the point?
-
Pot, Kettle But I'm sure you knew that...

Flybe are not stadium sponsors. It is not the Flybe St Mary's Stadium like it was with Friends Provident. They are on the seats because they are the main club sponsor. This will go in the summer when their sponsorship runs out. As for finding your season ticket seat it will be in the same place every week and have the same block, row and number on it!
