  1. Thoughts on the squad for next season... James, David - NEW CONTRACT (maybe player/coach) Belhadj, Nadir - SOLD Boateng, Kevin-Prince - SOLD Utaka, John - SOLD Ben-Haim, Tal - SOLD Brown, Michael - SOLD Diop, Papa Bouba - SOLD Kanu, N****wo - RELEASED Basinas, Angelos - RELEASED Hreiðarsson, Hermann - NEW CONTRACT Mokoena, Aaron - SOLD Rocha, Ricardo - NEW CONTRACT Wilson, Marc - SOLD Leaving a squad of... James, David Smith, Tommy Hughes, Richard Hreiðarsson, Hermann Finnan, Steve Rocha, Ricardo Mullins, Hayden Ashdown, Jamie Webber, Danny Koroma, Omar Ritchie, Matt Subotic, Danijel O'Brien, Liam Nlundulu, Gaël Ward, Joel Kilbey, Tom Magri, Sam Reynolds, Callum Is that realistic?
  2. Schneiderlin is also the only non domestic based player in the current French Under 21 squad despite playing in the 3rd tier of English football. He must be doing something right! In my opinion Lallana and Schneiderlin are Saints two real quality players and are destined for a top flight European team at some point, either with or without Saints.
  3. Because if he stated he wants to go to Saints whilst under contract, it doesn't help his position with Wolves.
  4. tbf if Surman did comment that he wanted to leave Wolves for Saints whilst he was under contract it wouldn't look good to his current employers. So a family friend wouldn't want to put him in that position.
  5. Ask him if he'd be interested in a return.
  6. wow what a bump Deano!
  7. The defensive side of Schneiderlin's game has come on massively in the last year. He wins a lot of challenges and this is overlooked by many.
  8. Yep, an online poll would be a terrible idea. It could be influenced by non Saints fans, or more to the point Pompey fans. Also the public has in general poor taste and shouldn't be trusted to make decisions.
  9. Surman has proven himself in the Championship. Premiership is probably a step to far for him but Saints are in League One and he'd be an awesome signing at this level. Puncheon and Lallana have yet to do so in the Championship (I'm sure they will in time but haven't yet) and by Pardews comments that McGoldrick and Surman were the best two players means he puts them above Lallana (at least he did at the start of the season).
  10. Just for comparison here is what Leicester City did for their 125 year anniversary in 2009/10... Link to article - http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1638227,00.html
  11. Pardew has mentioned Surman by name a number of times when he talks about the squad he inherited at first having just lost its best players.
  12. Rupert Lowe left 2nd April 2009 Andrew Surman left 1st July 2009 Markus Liebherr takeover 8th July 2009 alpine_saint owned?
  13. I know it is a long time a go, but he was in a winning side in 2006/07. I'm sure it wouldn't take him too long to settle back in and the confidence the other players currently have will soon filter through to him.
  14. Still a lot of people at the the club who can give him a reference (players and staff) to Pardew and Cortese as to his character etc.
  15. Where have you got 122 from? 1885 to 1896 - NO red and white stripes 1980 to 1989 - NO red and white stripes 1885 to 1950 - NO black shorts 1885 to 2010 - A massive variation in colours and styles of socks - Including blue socks, black socks, red socks, red/white hooped socks, white socks With all that change who is to say what the traditional "Saints kit" is?
  16. How have you obtained them?
  17. Look at the shorts on the away kit and it looks like someone has just pressed "fill colour" blue on Microsoft paint on the home shorts. Exact same creases on both.
  18. It isn't the same article. Those are links to related article with the same keywords. All likely to be the usual Daily Mail rubbish.

  20. I won't. It should be "a" not "an" - MLG doesn't start with a vowel.
  21. They voted they liked it. They didn't vote they preferred it to an alternative.
  22. What can we do to make the club adopt Gecko's badge for 2011/12 onwards? It is a radical change but most clubs have changed badges significantly in recent years and the current Saints badge only dates back to 1974 so is hardly traditional.
  23. The tree on Gecko's really needs to be green. Looks like it is Autumn otherwise.
  24. Well I'm happy to pay £12. Also is good for families with accompanied children under 14 getting in for FREE.
