  1. Even 14 or 15 wins is possible from Saints. Which would be enough. On paper there is a good case that Saints should be capable of winning all 17. Yes, I realise games aren't won on paper but I believe for the first time in the season Saints NOW have a better team than Leeds and Norwich.
  2. The season didn't but form charts did. Saints side today is very different to how it has been for most of the season. Thus you can't judge the current 11 players wearing Saints shirts on the failure of a different set of players.
  3. How many of those games did Saints line up like this? Davis Otsemobor Fonte Jaidi Harding Puncheon Hammond Schneiderlin Lallana Lambert Barnard Sub: Bialkowski Seaborne James Holmes Antonio Papa Waigo Connolly ANSWER = One game - Away to top of the league Norwich City yesterday and won 2-0 Only four of the remaining fixtures are against top six teams. All four of them are at St Mary's. Even if they did lose all four at home to Leeds, Swindon, Huddersfield and Charlton (which I don't think they will)...Saints need to win 13 out of 17 games. 17 minus 4 equals 13.
  4. - 17 points from the playoffs. - 17 games left. - 10 home games left. - 7 away games left. - 2 games in hand. - Games against play off rivals Swindon and Huddersfield at St Mary's. - 88 points still possible, roughly 76 points needed for playoffs. - January signings now settled and Pardew has his best starting eleven that beat Norwich away 2-0 to use for the rest of the season. Davis Otsemobor Fonte Jaidi Harding Puncheon Hammond Schneiderlin Lallana Lambert Barnard Sub: Bialkowski Seaborne James Holmes Antonio Papa Waigo Connolly 10 Home Games: Walsall Huddersfield Leeds Swindon Hartlepool Leyton Orient Charlton Oldham Carlisle Southend 7 Away Games: Wycombe Tranmere MK Dons Brighton Bristol Rovers Yeovil Gillingham Roughly 13 wins needed Possible or pipe dream? With that starting line up and the fixture list I think it is very much possible.
  5. 40 could still be enough for the play offs.
  6. That would be £180m rent over the 15 years and they still wouldn't own it at the end.
  7. They really don't look alike. Saint_Clark in "black men look alike" shocker!
  8. Puncheon looks nothing like Antonio! ffs
  9. Pointless resting him against Wycombe if it means Saints have less chance of winning. If you don't beat the poorer teams then it doesn't matter how you do against the better teams. As long as he isn't injured/carrying a knock he should play in every game.
  10. Why? Still 88 points possible to achieve. The starting 11 that beat table topping Norwich shouldn't drop many points over the next 17 games in this league.
  11. Why rest him? He is the League Top scorer and Saints need to win most of their remaining games. If he can't run around for 90 minutes and then play 3(if a Tuesday) or 7 days(if a Saturday) later at his age then he should give up professional football.
  12. Not really written off Peter, as he owns the stadium and gets paid more than it is worth over 15 years.
  13. How is that relevant? That stat doesn't prove he played well in those games.
  14. Because there are a number of new players and they don't know each other well. The new guys when in the changing room may not have come out of their shells yet - thus quieter. Simple.
  15. 2-1 to Stoke in injury time
  16. Well you did leave yourself open to that, given the thread title.
  17. Ok, will still be about 12 to 15 minutes when they put extended highlights on.
  18. Don't complain... The full 90 minutes will be on Saints Player.
  19. Norwich are better than Leeds. Also the Leeds game is at home unlike todays game.
  20. Saints can still get 88 points this season. I can't see that starting 11 losing many games in the 3rd tier. Automatic promotion not out of the question.
  21. Otsemobor has played in EVERY game he has been available for. Which is every league game since signing. The only reason why Thomas has played recently is because Otsemobor was cup tied in the JPT (vs MK Dons 1st and 2nd Leg) and the FA Cup (vs Ipswich and Portsmouth). Otsemobor is Pardew's first choice.
  22. So the player that played left wing for Pompey had too much pace. Alan Pardew puts a very, very quick right back like Jon Otsemobor in the team, and you complain. Lallana, Harding, Puncheon, Otsemobor are certainly not slow for League One. Antonio and Papa Waigo are options on the bench if needed.
  23. I thought you knew as you already claimed that the team had no pace.
  24. They don't even own that anymore... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=744356&sec=england&cc=5739 Nor do they have a training ground.
