St Mary's averaged over 30k every season from 2001 to 2005. As soon as promotion to the Premiership happens it will be back to averages over 30k in the first season. That would put Saints around 10th to 12th in the Premiership in size of gates. Planning applications may take ages to go through so worth thinking about it in advance.

It also adds value to the club for when Mr Liebherr sells it eventually.

He has said about every takeover i.e. they have money and substance and none have. People with money have money for a reason, they are generally intelligent people. If they weren't they wouldn't have become rich or maintain their wealth for long. Spending millions on Pompey is a sure fire way to lose money, they simply aren't sustainable or a viable investment to make a return on. A Championship sized club cheating to live a Premiership dream on borrowed cash.

As planning could take along time to go through might be worth looking into it now. I reckon they probably have been considering what to do on this front already. The new training facilities are aimed for a Premiership team so they are planning ahead. Every Premiership season at St Mary's from 2001 to 2005 averaged over 30k.

Still in Hampshire though and still a League team. The same can't be said of Portsmouth when they go bust and global warming floods their island city.

All it would mean is you'd play two out of Connolly, Barnard and Waigo upfront in a 442 and not play the long ball to flick on with Lambert's head.

You don't seem to realise that if Saints sold Lambert(which they won't) then they would buy another top quality striker with the cash.

Its not really a massive worry because if he did leave in the summer(which I am very confident he won't) it would be for around £2m and Pardew would just be given the funds to buy another quality striker for whichever league Saints are in.

Some papers if to be believed said he turned down Middlesbrough to come to Saints.

He is also on a 3 year deal. He knew when he signed that the chances of promotion this season wouldn't be great and only a possibility. The club can quite easily afford to turn down all but a huge offer.

Why would he spend money on a team that... 1) Is likely to be relegated within 13 games. 2) Outside of the transfer window so no chance to change thing. 3) Has huge debts of £60m+. 4) Has a small fanbase averaging a mere 18k in the top flight. 5) No training ground 6) A small and old stadium that also doesn't own the land around it. There are plenty of Championship clubs with a lot more potential, infrastructure, larger fanbases and fewer problems than Pompey. Sheff Utd Sheff Weds Derby Leicester Coventry Newcastle West Brom Cardiff Nottingham Forrest Ipswich Norwich Leeds Bristol City Charlton MK Dons Middlesbrough Are all clubs that a rich buyer should buy over Pompey. Anyone that does buy Pompey can't be taken seriously as doing it to improve the club because the very fact that they choose Pompey over the many others they could have had shows a lack of business foresight.
