  1. It was cancelled. Was a terrible idea in the first place.
  2. Without Papa Waigo and Antonio maybe Pardew wants Dickson, Lallana and Puncheon for the wide positions. I still think Antonio may come back so it would be two from Dickson, Antonio, Lallana and Puncheon for the two wide midfield roles and Dickson can cover Harding aswell.
  3. May end up being a similar thing that happened with Paterson & Barnard.
  4. Brentford's local paper which has quotes. Daily Echo take note! Although not quotes saying he is going to Saints but that he is on his way from Brentford and speculation Saints are monitoring. http://www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/west-london-sport/west-london-brentford-fc/2010/05/19/brentford-seek-ryan-dickson-replacement-109642-26475923/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  5. It might be 80 minutes because the tournament is over a 9 day period and they have a game every two days.
  6. :D You have set your sights far too low.
  7. Charlton will be a shell of the side of this year. They have huge money problems and may go into administration over the summer. Sheff Weds will be strong, but won't spend much as they also have money problems. Plymouth and Peterborough will be top half probably playoffs but shouldn't pose much of a threat. Hudddersfield will be strong as will Millwall if they stay down. Swindon if they don't go up may lose a few players. Brighton will have a much better season.
  8. He is playing the holding role for France tonight just infront of the centre backs and doing it very well winning alot of challenges and spraying the ball around from deep.
  9. You only have to look at what Blackpool, Swansea, Nottm Forest and Leicester have done so soon after promotion from League One.
  10. The contracts won't start until 1st July 2009 and a CVA will either be approved or rejected by then. They may be provisional in the event of the CVA failing.
  11. I think I've made my point to Robbie now.
  12. Time to merge both the Surman threads as it seems pointless having two when both are saying the same thing?
  13. He is a current Premiership player, proven at Championship level. Something only Fonte and in the past Jaidi, Connolly and Davis can say of those currently in the squad. Saints are a League One club and Surman would walk into our squad and starting line-up.

  15. They are in talks with Rocha for a new contract according to the administrator and Finnan may stay perhaps. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Pompey-move-to-keep-Iceman.6300799.jp
  16. Thoughts on the squad for next season... James, David - NEW CONTRACT (maybe player/coach) Belhadj, Nadir - SOLD Boateng, Kevin-Prince - SOLD Utaka, John - SOLD Ben-Haim, Tal - SOLD Brown, Michael - SOLD Diop, Papa Bouba - SOLD Kanu, N****wo - RELEASED Basinas, Angelos - RELEASED Hreiðarsson, Hermann - NEW CONTRACT Mokoena, Aaron - SOLD Rocha, Ricardo - NEW CONTRACT Wilson, Marc - SOLD Leaving a squad of... James, David Smith, Tommy Hughes, Richard Hreiðarsson, Hermann Finnan, Steve Rocha, Ricardo Mullins, Hayden Ashdown, Jamie Webber, Danny Koroma, Omar Ritchie, Matt Subotic, Danijel O'Brien, Liam Nlundulu, Gaël Ward, Joel Kilbey, Tom Magri, Sam Reynolds, Callum Is that realistic?
  17. Schneiderlin is also the only non domestic based player in the current French Under 21 squad despite playing in the 3rd tier of English football. He must be doing something right! In my opinion Lallana and Schneiderlin are Saints two real quality players and are destined for a top flight European team at some point, either with or without Saints.
  18. Because if he stated he wants to go to Saints whilst under contract, it doesn't help his position with Wolves.
  19. tbf if Surman did comment that he wanted to leave Wolves for Saints whilst he was under contract it wouldn't look good to his current employers. So a family friend wouldn't want to put him in that position.
  20. Ask him if he'd be interested in a return.
  21. wow what a bump Deano!
  22. The defensive side of Schneiderlin's game has come on massively in the last year. He wins a lot of challenges and this is overlooked by many.
  23. Yep, an online poll would be a terrible idea. It could be influenced by non Saints fans, or more to the point Pompey fans. Also the public has in general poor taste and shouldn't be trusted to make decisions.
