Stockport vs Saints - 1st Half updates/discussion

You weren't right. You said Lambert 44 minutes. It was Lambert 46 minutes. -
I did my University dissertation on this Impact on the environment/society/economy of urban sports stadium redevelopment and town planning using St Mary's as a case study.
-
The corporate boxes and the lack of room behind the Itchen Stand make it difficult to put an extra tier on that stand.
-
It was designed so you can add a tier on each of the Kingsland, Northam and Chapel stands taking capactiy to between 52k and 54k.
-
Numerous interviews in the press over the last 60 years about how the Liebherr family does its business.
-
It is. My point was Mr Liebherr if funding it himself(if England or Saints don't win the bid but want to expand capacity anyway) wouldn't take out a loan as he doesn't like debt. If you are willing to expand in order to hold 2 one off games in 9 years time. Then surely you would still consider expanding it yourself even if it did cost you more money. The ground would still be 40k or more after the tournament.

Well our friendly billionaire owner that doesn't like debt would
-
If the club is willing to expand the ground for a World Cup bid, maybe it would consider it even without a World Cup bid as we'd have to live with the increased capacity either way after 2018.
-
Can't have 3 stadiums in one city. This is an English bid not Wales.
-
He wouldn't have to pay for it all. As it is for the World Cup we'd get some funding towards the cost. Obviously not all the money but a fair bit of it. Docker P, where did you find this out? You have given no source or link. I'd love for this to be true.

Pardew on Lallana and Schneiderlin speculation
Matthew Le God replied to Minty's topic in The Saints
In that case they should look beyond the label of "Southampton 3rd tier club". Then they would see Pardew has had success coaching in the Premiership and Southampton as a club has brought through a number of internationals in recent years. Some youth internationals are currently on loan at lower league clubs yet still get called up no real difference between that and being under contract at a lower league club as you are getting coached by them whilst there. -
Pardew on Lallana and Schneiderlin speculation
Matthew Le God replied to Minty's topic in The Saints
3rd Tier Football in England is of a much higher standard than in France or infact any country in the world. The amount of money in 3rd tier football in England dwarfs that of other 3rd tier leagues largely due to attendances being significantly higher. I think someone from Southampton F.C. needs to make this point to the French Football Association. Also many French Under 21's will only be on fringes of large teams, Morgan will be a regular with first team football every week. -
Can you link to the paper please? I need the info.

Schneiderlin wants to Leave / Rasiak
Matthew Le God replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Apart from the fact the French under 21 boss is not connected to any club so it is not in anyway tapping up. -

31st is a Bank Holiday so it has been extended. -
I'd do some more research/take to an independent expert before just sticking it on ebay.

Schneiderlin wants to Leave / Rasiak
Matthew Le God replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I think someone should tell the French Under 21 manager that 3rd tier football in England is much better than 3rd tier football in France. -

We haven't paid anywhere near £1.2m for him. It would have been a small fee upfront with the rest based on extras. If we didn't buy him there would never have been £1.2m for Lambert in January. -

I was at the game actually I think we'd have been even better if he was on the pitch from the start alongside James instead of Wotton. -

Morgan is a quality player as I have said since I first saw him play after he signed. Will one day(perhaps very soon) be a Premiership or top flight european League player, "perhaps" even in the French senior squad. The French Football association rate him very highly hence why he is captain of the under 20 team. The under 21 manager wants him to be playing at a higher level to improve his development. You really have no idea.
