I did not say that was the reason. The prize money based on league position is the UK and international merit columns on the table. Which as you can see below is a relatively small % of the total money Saints got this season. Saints prize money is £14.5m out of their £113.3m total. So a relatively small amount. The other circa £100m is not 'prize money', it is money for the TV games and for simply being in the Premier League.
